Quote of the day

Love the visual that comes with this quote Guy... printed out and on my bulletin board.  Thanks for sharing!

“I keep the telephone of my mind open to peace, harmony, health, love, and abundance. Then, whenever doubt, anxiety, or fear try to call me, they will keep getting a busy signal-and soon they’ll forget my number.”

~ Edith Armstrong

Guy - beautiful!

Just because something doesn't do what you planned it to do doesn't mean it's useless.
- Thomas A. Edison

Today's toolbox quote is inspiring because I think it promotes recycling.  Many inventions came about through accidents too.  Also, Edison is persevering and my core belief is to persevere.

Guy, thanks for helping me to start my saturday this way!

I came across a quote today, that might be an oversimplification, but it's still inspiring:

“I keep the telephone of my mind open to peace, harmony, health, love, and abundance. Then, whenever doubt, anxiety, or fear try to call me, they will keep getting a busy signal-and soon they’ll forget my number.”

~ Edith Armstrong

I think this is a form of self-discovered CBT. In a nutshell, I think it also highlights how CBT works. Yep, doubt, fear, anxiety, even depression will keep calling and coming at you. But by practicing what we are learning, we will be able overcome these things and experience them less and less.

I hope this motivates everyone. Not everyday is good for me either and sometimes my positive thoughts are hard to find or hard for me to believe. Nonetheless, they are better to find and to believe than those anxious lies that try to cripple me.

I find the quote of the day often not relevant but still interesting and often some thing to try to live by. But taken just as that. They are peoples comments, just like the forums. All information is good, even if you don't agree.

Hugs, I find the toolbox quote inspriational too and I totally agree with you. Hopefully we can support those of us who are genuinely trying to love and inspire the rest of us.. Sid.

Just don't give up trying to do what you really want to do. Where there is love and inspiration, I don't think you can go wrong.
- Ella Fitzgerald

This toolbox quote is inspirational, as I tackle the daily goals and exposure exercises which seem overwhelming and endless, with bullies hiding in the bushes trying to trip me up.

Hopefully we can support those of us who are genuinely trying to love and inspire the rest of us

I like the quotes of the day in our tool box. They are enjoyable to read..and have different meaning for everyone..

As for goal Setting and Exposure Planning....
I really don't see them as very useful tools when it comes to Goal setting and Exposure planning..
It takes a lot of work to set goals and then follow through with planning exposure not to mention actually doing the exposure..There are many steps in this process outlined in the CBT program offered here on this site...That is what helped me prepare for exposure work..If anyone is interested in starting to do exposure work I would start by reading the sessions in your tool box.

I wish it was that simple. It is not that black and white. There are a lot of gray areas, but it is a good start.

He can who thinks he can, and he can't who thinks he can't. This is an inexorable, indisputable law.

Doesn't this mean that positive thoughts are important?  Let get rid of negative thoughts

Wednesday's quote about perseverance, means it's okay to be imperfect, since our response is important.

So when I have a "challenge" like falling into water, what's important is how I respond to that - by doing something about it in my favour!  This reminds me of the similar saying like if fall off a horse, just get back on.  The context has to change for it to relate to the reader.

This spoke to me since persevering is part of my new core beliefs.

I wonder if others have seen this in other contexts?
