Hi Everyone,

There is a myth out there that "anxiety disorder is a fixed part of one's personality."
That is to say, that one is predisposed to anxiety disorder and can't do much other than control some of the symptoms.

Well, as you may know, that is not true.
Some people can be more anxious than others on a regular basis but anxiety disorder is not a component of personality.
Though anxiety disorder is not a part of your personality, one can be more prone to the disorder because of their personality. Other factors like genetics and experiences can lead one to be more susceptive to the disorder.

So, what does that mean, well it means that treating anxiety disorder is to reduce and control the symptoms rather than change one's personality.
