Green Smoothies?!

Eating healthy is an essential part of any health plan. You cannot feel good emotionally and mentally if you are not eating right. Eating well means eating lots of fruits and veggies; green leafy vegetables are a must. In our fast paced lives it can be hard to eat healthy on the go. One great option is green smoothies.

Green smoothies have been around for awhile and if you haven’t tried them yet you really have to! All you need is a good food processor or blender and a bunch of fruits and veggies.  You can experiment as much as you like or look up some yummy and healthy recipes on the internet.

I like to start with the supper food – I add lots of spinach or kale first, blend it with a bit of water for a good few minutes to ensure all the green bits are liquefied. I then add a handful of some frozen or fresh fruit that I keep on hand; bananas, berries, mango, and pear are great. You can also add different veggies like cucumber and pepper. Agave, cacao, dates and ground flax seeds also make great additions.

Give them a try ASAP, you will be glad you did. They really are an easy and tasty way to increase your fruit and veggie in take.
