And the second greatest discovery is how much people will not alter their attitude if they are comfortable with it as it is. Even if it is to their detriment.
You have to want to change before you can. Knowing how to does not work if you do not put it into practice. A case of being intelligent and educated and stupid at the same time.

Quote of the Day:
The greatest discovery of my generation is that human beings can alter their lives by altering their attitudes of mind.

Homework is essential here, and so are our choices that follow

Quote of the Day:
Plant the seed of desire in your mind and it forms a nucleus with power to attract to itself everything needed for its fulfillment.

Sometimes I wonder if I should trust myself with this ability, since I've been wrong beforeand for so long

Thankfully I like a challenge because for me most every day is one.
Yesterday I had a very good day with some minor physical challenges I had to overcome but I did and so there was no "I failed blues". All in all a very good day. I'm being greedy and trying for a second one.

Life's challenges are not supposed to paralyze you; they're supposed to help you discover who you are.

This is a more productive way of looking at challenges

The will to do something for ones self is much harder than the will to do for others.
This is why so many have difficulty retiring and mothers have trouble with the empty nest.
It would be good to be prepared before either happens but how does a person prepare for something they have never done before?

Thanks Sunny,
I think that surrounding oneself with re-enforcing things & people can help

Hi:  Yes, the will to do something can be hard to find when we are feeling low.  I believe it only takes the first step, one step to get going.  It's a difficult step sometimes, but that one step leads to the next and so on.  It's easier to sit and do nothing (but there are no rewards as usually the guilt and the negative feelings come out to haunt you) and it's hard to pick up the challenge, but it just takes the one step which would lead to the second step.  As everything else, no one can do it for you, you have to do it for yourself.

Quote of the Day:
What you have to do and the way you have to do it is incredibly simple. Whether you are willing to do it, that's another matter.
- Peter F. Drucker

That will is is the operative word to me.

Remember that old saying when we were kids?  If at first you don't succeed try, try again.  Doesn't say you have to try again doing the same thing over and over again.  It says don't give up, don't give in, keep trying anyway you can, study it (we are using CBT here) change something, (behaviour, attitude, diet, lifestyle), tweak it to suit your needs and BELIEVE.

Your friend, Sunny
