Like the song from Van Halen, finishing what you started is important.  This condition leaves too many things that I don't finish, so I have to complete things.
 
Crises, though, bump my "best laid plans".
 
It's not all "my fault" or the "condition"'s fault.  The quote that gets me through a lot of this is the famous american tennis player Arthur Ashe who said "...I'm doing the best I can with what I know, and when I know more, I'll do better".

Yeah, busy works for me. The only downside is I get so sore and then I have another negative focus when I try to rest. For me keeping busy without overworking is a juggling act that has gone out the window right now. Fortunately I go to bed so tired I don't have time to do anything but sleep. Last night the cat woke me a number of times so I woke this morning un-rested and my mind running along unwanted lines. And that is just a cat, not a person I have to worry about.
I find myself waiting for snow to shut me down every fall. So much to do and it seems no way to stop. Just one project after another, bordering on OCD. A little anxiety, excitement and mania is good for a person but when does it become too much. When do the projects become too large? When you find yourself laying on the ground or when they become depressing?
Finished canning, almost finished harvesting, now to clean up and get ready to start all over again in march. On to the next project. So far nothing unexpected to make me sad other than bears in my apple trees.
Life goes on with or without me, with or without the worry. The choice is mine. Just sometimes it doesn't seem so.

Davit,
I can resolve the issue, or get some resolution, but there is so little time, and competing responsibilities...so I just leave it.  I gripe when I have a short(usually very short) respite, but then it's back to the grind.
 
I suppose I'm lucky to have more to do than not enough, so i can't worry as much as I used to

It is important to let go of things that can't be resolved. Just that, throw away any thought of them. I am going to guess that it is not them that is the problem but your reaction. Are you hanging on to them because they were embarrassing or caused some other emotion, like anger maybe? Emotions can keep an unwanted situation in place for ever if you let them. They do fade as or if you build more pleasant memories on top of them. 
If I dig in my memory for some unpleasant situation in the past that I can't change I will actually start to shake and panic. So I don't because it is work to get rid of it again. (more burying)

Hi Hugs:  Well, the panelling is going well so far.  I even cut out for electrical outlets and one large vent.  All went well, cut perfect first time!  Yea, I'm proud of myself. :-)  still more to do and the harder bits coming today, like going up the stairs.  Then the moldings, piece of cake after the other.  In a way, it's just like putting a puzzle together, one piece at a time.
 
It's true some things/events cannot be changed/resolved.  We can only come at them at a different angle, view them with a different attitude and if we can let go, than let go.  If not, well, we might have to live with it awhile longer.  The question is how and what can we do to make it easier for ourselves.  What steps/thinking can we take to lessen the most disagreeable part of whatever it is we don't like.  I think this is where the time out, or time for yourself, pampering, comes in.  Kind of helps smooth away the rough spots, gives us a break and lets us live along side it, not in it.

You know, I just realized one of the pleasures I get from my "projects" is the great feeling I have afterward.  I have a project I want to start today.  I'm cleaning out the basement and new panelling is going up.  The panels were delivered a couple of days ago.  Time to get busy and measure and cut.  I know I'm going to be very happy when it's finished.  I've never done this before, but I can do it.  I googled it and researched and asked questions at the store.  I do have someone helping me though.  I don't have the strength to hold up the panel and nail at the same time. lol
