Is it the zoloft or am I going mad?

Dosages for zoloft can be as high as 200 mg. The usual starting is 50. One quirk you might want to discuss with your doctor if you think your dosage is too high. In women the effect is one and a half times that of men. I don't know if that is so for other SSRIs but it is for this one. Like all the SSRIs the information is scarier than the actual facts.
How are you doing otherwise?

I haven't read alot about Zoloft - I was told not to. But I am on the same stuff and I am all OVER the place. Horrible. I want to just stop em too! I am at 100mg for over 6 weeks.... I feel like I want to jump out of my skin. I don't recognize myself in the mirror either. This stuff is .... bad.

MUSELOVER,

Try checking with pharmacy?  They can contact your doctor as well to provide further knowledge of this medication.

It depends on the person, but be careful. I have gone cold turkey twice from Celexa and the effect was not pleasant. But neither was the thoughts of suicide. Don't be afraid to go the ER if you have to. They will probably just put you on ativan till you settle. I know here they would put you in hospital till you were okay.
Keep posting, we are here for you.

I haven't noticed any side effects so far & I've been on the half dose for about 6 weeks, I can't get in to see my doctor and am desperate for help

Have you talked to your doctor about decreasing the dosage? Thats a very dramatic drop, and from my experience with Zoloft I can tell you you may go through withdrawal. I think you should decrease slower than that, maybe go from 100 to 75 for a week, then 50. I know this didnt really answer your question, but I just don't want to see anyone else go through withdrawal off that :/

I have been on Zoloft 100mg per day for around 12 months now, before that I was on Trazadone, the trazadone after prolonged use made me self harm so was changed but recently whilst on the zoloft I did something so out of character for me and I got arrested. I was not aware of what I was doing and cannot remember much about the event. I am a young disabled woman, my late husband was a police officer & I have never done anything illegal in my life.
I have since read many an article about the effects this drug can have on an individual and wondered if anyone else had experienced anything like this? Since the incident I have halved my dosage until I my appointment with my mental health team arrives.
Any advice?
