Summer,
I haven't read the book, but hope to hear back about it from you soon.  The author was a famous biologist too...keep us posted, please.

Thank you Debi. Triana and Hugs 4u and everyone for the positive comments. I did feel good that I made it through the day. I was able to do it again today. I am happy but still worried for the next episode. I saw the doctor today and she wants me to take the xanax. And I also am going to use cbt. And I only will take the xanax when I feel I need it and then eventually not at all. She suggested the book by claire weekS: hope and help for your nerves. Has anyone used this? Summer7

I did it today. I cried the first 10 min of the drive. But I did it and it wasn't great but I made it. Once I got home I was able to eat a sandwhich and some poptarts. I am seeing the psychologist tomorrow morning. Thanks hugs 4u. Your right I just need to drive through it. And laura I think that's a great section and I reread it today. I am going to try to implement that. Thanks Summer7

Summer, I just read the second section of the program where it outlines the kinds of thoughts that get us into trouble and what they are.  Your thought about driving and teaching, "I just feel like I will have such panic and it will be so hard" is a great example of Jumping to Conclusions, I think... here's the piece about it from the program:

Jumping to Conclusions

Jumping to conclusions is what happens when a decision is made with little or no evidence. For example, anxious thoughts such as "I'm going to faint" or “I’m going to collapse” could be considered jumping to a conclusions if the person has never fainted or collapsed during a panic attack.

A second kind of jumping to conclusions happens when people overestimate the chance of something happening. For example, a person with agoraphobia might say they have a 100% chance of having a panic attack if they go to the store. In fact the chances are a lot less. Another person might think: "Everyone will notice me shaking" when in fact most people probably are going about their own business and aren’t watching that closely.

So if you have completed your part 2, Anxious Thoughts, you should try processing this one with the advanced anxious thoughts form.  It will help you to pick apart where this thought comes from, how likely it is that it will happen, what the worst case scenario is and how bad would that actually be?  Believe me, I know it feels awful, but it's actually a great chance to practice the program.

I'm rooting for you!
Laura

Summer,
Anxiety is like a tunnel.  Drive through the tunnel.  You'll come out the other side...

Hi everyone, Thank you so much for your support and advice. I woke up this morning and felt happy to see so many responses. Davit, thank you for the advice. I am considering trying a half of the xanax and seeing how I feel. I actually like boost so that works out well for me. Thank you for giving me hope that it will get better and that's its a rough patch. Laura, thank you for sharing with me your story. It makes me feel better to know that I am not the only one who has difficulty with eating. I want to eat, I love food but its just so hard and I get so scared. Today I ate a mix of baby food and solid food and had a boost. You are right my headache went away :) Red Thanks for the advice and I like baked potatoes so hopefully soon when I get braver I can eat a potato again. I plan on calling the doctor tomorrow because I think I might need a little more help than trying to do this alone. I have great support from my family and that helps. But I feel awful making them go through this too. Hugs4u Thank you and ill keep you updated. I am now petrified for tomorrow though because I have to drive 35 min to teach and then teach 3 classes drive 25 min to teach another and drive home after. I just feel like I will have such panic and it will be so hard. Any advice? I just want to avoid it but I know that is the wrong approach. Thanks everyone Summer
