Hi Shari:  Good to hear from you and that you are doing well!  How happy you must be.  I guess your neck is feeling better. (?)  Being able to drive yourself around and accomplishing tasks are a great confidence booster.  Yes, you can do it.  Phooey, about the chickens, a little disappointing for you but you have a great attitude.  Hope you post often again.

Shari,
I had been wondering how you were doing and I'm so glad to hear you are doing well. Congratulations on all your successes, your new positive mindset, and happy birthday too!

I too am getting to a place where I'm not having panic attacks very often. I've still been frustrated with the anxiety even though it doesn't often get to a full blown attack, and I can use your positive outlook as inspiration to be proud of how far I've come rather than frustrated with how far I still want to go.

Keep in touch here now and again, and keep shrinking those dragons!

Chicken Lady,
Wow! Happy Birthday! You sound so happy , I'm so happy for you (and a tad jealous) I'm doing way better than 6 months ago, but I still am struggling with my phobias and exposures. Cluck, cluck. Ok that was silly but it just popped out of me. I'm taking your words to heart today too, looking only at the positive and forgetting about the negative. At least trying too.
Even thought you are one of the "cured",  keep in touch here.

Hi Everyone,  I just turned 48 and I feel great!  I just wanted to let everyone know that I finished the program successfully!  My dragons are dragonflys and although I get those instead of butterflys, I am finally free.  I am back out into the world and enjoying it.  I've been very busy and I'm able to go out and do whatever I like without panic.  I drove my dog to the Vet the other day and, in the past, I would schedule it on a day that someone could go with me, but I did it myself.  My goal is to continue going out and living my life without panic.  I'm still always looking for new hobbys and I just keep my ears and eyes open to the possiblilities.  I finally got my husband's approval for the chicken project and then our town just passed a law that you're not allowed to have poultry :(  Whatever happens pick yourself up and keep moving toward your goal.  Life doesn't go perfectly there are lemonade days that turn to lemons, but it's how I perceive the lemons.  Situations are situations it's all about attitude and looking for the positive.  I've retrained my thinking and now if 10 things go wrong and 2 things go right, I focus on the 2 things that went well, and dismiss what went wrong.  I can truthfully say that I have not had a panic attack since August 25, 2010.  I want you to know that sometimes anxiety will make you think that you are going to have one, but now they don't turn into panic anymore.  You can all do this.  I was a big chicken and if I can do it, so can you.  The two keys you'll always carry with you are "BELIEVE" and "POSITIVE OVER NEGATIVE".   You can retrain your brain, I'm living proof.  Love you all, The Chicken Lady :)

Members,

Happy Autumn!

With summer behind it’s time to reassess your goals. Having goals is an important step of personal development. Setting and assessing your goals regularly helps to keep you motivated and driven to succeed. By setting goals you know where to focus your efforts, concentrating on areas of your life that are important to you.

Here are some areas to think about when setting goals:
Artistic
Attitude
Career
Education
Family
Financial
Physical
Pleasure

Let us know how you are doing with setting and reassessing your goals. If you have any questions, ask away!
