Myth or Fact?

There are a lot of self help books that push this very myth. And the shock does some times kick out the depression for a while but it always comes back. The chemical change can de changed by slow patient use of the tools in the program or it can be done chemically by changing or reducing the chemicals that cause the depression or a combination of both, but only by doing the program and learning to use the tools can you get any lasting effect.

When people are saying get with the program, they don't mean this one, and they have no idea what the difference is between the blues and actual depression.

Myth: Depression results from a personality weakness or character flaw, and people who are depressed could just snap out of it if they tried hard enough.

Fact: Depression has nothing to do with being lazy or weak. It results from changes in brain chemistry or brain function, and medication and/or psychotherapy often help people to recover.
