Hi Tam,
Your welcome, and it's nice to know I'm not alone! I always carry around a pillow to feel more comfortable in my abdomen... I know this is a behavior I'd need to break soon.

Anerol,

Wow that is very interesting because I totally get the "burpy" feeling and really nauseas when I'm anxious. I almost feel nauseas because I feel the burps not wanting to come out.

Thanks for that info!

hi mikelorez,
welcome to the site. I tend to get this when i swallow too much when i am anxious or nervous. I've heard that when people get nervous we tend to swallow a lot and a lot of air, this causes you to get a lot of gas in you stomach and make you feel nauseas, which ALWAYS happens to me and you end up wanting to burp a lot, which in return this gave me a lot of lumpy feeling in my throat.

Welcome Mikelorez!

Getting tightness in your throat is a common symptom of anxiety.  In order to manage the symptoms of anxiety it is important to manage the anxiety.  The program will help you to do this.  Have you started working on the program? If so how far along are you?

I suggest looking at the relaxation techniques auxillary session.  This can certainly give you relief.

Hi Mikelorez:  welcome to the site.  Yes, I used to get tight throat and lump in my throat, sometimes felt as though someone was choking me.  It was so annoying.  I used to drink water all the time.  Mostly, any kind of relaxation exercises helped with it. Sometimes I used distraction, such as talking to a friend on the phone for a few minutes.  When you start to relax, it does go away.  Have you learned any relaxation techniques yet?  I use the muscle relaxing one a lot and the box breathing too.  Hope you will try this CBT program. I think you will find it very helpful.  Good luck.  Post whenever you want, ask questions, there's always someone here to reply.  Good luck

I get this also but even before the attack. But I am different, In me it is because I'm low on calcium. I know how dumb that sounds but calcium fixes it in me. It really is a horrible feeling. Luckily I seldom forget the calcium.

Davit, sounding weird.
