Hello Hopefilled, I have both systems.........Panic Away and The Linden Method. They both are basically the same thing. Panic Away is a little cheaper. I am honestly not sure what to think of them. I find the techniques very difficult. I do something with one or the other everyday. I don't know if you know what the nine pillars are in the linden method, but for me they are very difficult to live by. I just can't say if they work or not. Maybe I'm just not as faithful as I should be. For example one day me and my husband were going out to dinner. It was a bad day and evening for me. I kept having short, mild panic attacks on and off all day long. Coming home from dinner, I felt the heat wave of panic come over my shoulders and back and I applied the linden method. It would pass but seconds later come back. I contacted there support team and they said that when you are starting the road to recovery this is called the see saw effect. Now was it the linden method or was it just me. To this day I don't know, but there are times when i can't do the method at all. It gets on my nerves real bad sometimes. If you have the extra money you could give it a try. You could problably find a good book reccommendation however that will tell you the same things charles linden tell you in his book and audio cd's.

Hopefilled,

Welcome to our support community!  There are many people within this support group that share similar questions and concerns as you.  Take some time to review our Panic Program and tools available to you online.  The program is 12-weeks and each session is based on the previous session, so we strongly encourage you to work slowly through the program and not jump ahead...there's no rush!  If you have any questions or concerns about our tools, please feel free to contact us via feedback.

Members, have you also been on Effexor and experienced withdrawal symptoms after discontinuing?  What did you find helped ease the withdrawal symptoms?  How about lowering anxiety levels?  Have you tried box breathing and deep muscle relaxation?  Check out the program tools for these techniques and let us know if they have worked for you.

Please continue to strive forward and lean on us for support.

Hello, everyone!  I'm new to the forum, but have lived with panic & anxiety for over 25 years.  For some reason, I am NOW ready to conquer it!  I'm tired of being a victim to these feelings and determining what I do or don't do on any given day, based on the anticipation of panic attacks.

I may have emetophobia, but it's a case of which came first ... the chicken or the egg.  I always feel like I'm going to be sick when I get a panic attack, so I'm not sure if I'm afraid of vomiting and then panic, or if the panic starts first and then brings on the fear of vomiting.

A couple of questions for those that may have experienced similar circumstances that I'm going through right now ....

Do you know of any herbal remedies that might help me as I wean off of Effexor XR?  My doctor and pharmacist won't suggest anything because "blah blah blah, studies, long-term effects, FDA approval, etc."  But I know there have to be some vitamin supplements or other things that can help with the withdrawal symptoms as well as lower anxiety levels as I taper off the meds.

Secondly, I just started the program here online, and so far so good.  I've read about the "Linden Method" and the "Panic Away" methods also.  Has anyone tried these as well and had positive results?  I learn better by listening and watching (vs. reading) which is why I was also looking for supplemental materials.

Lastly, I am a Christian and wondered if anyone had good scriptures or verses or books or meditations that are helpful for them.

Thanks in advance for being my sounding board.  I hope & pray that I can keep up my motivation and determination to beat this thing once and for all!!
