Hi Kendraj,

I just turned 54 and still have the occasional setbacks like now.  The times I have been the best is when I have taken regular exercise and taken good care of myself.  I have to present in front of groups and find that using powerpoint helps to keep focused.  I keep asking for more opportunities to speak in front of people as the more you do something the easier it gets but I usually have to take a mild tranquillizer to actually get through them lol.  Hang in there.

Hey,

I understand what you mean about negative thinking very well. For example last year before i 'knew' i had an anxiety problem i spent a couple of hours going mad with stress trying to get into contact with a utility company to pay an overdue bill. I was thinking the worst, that we would get cut off if i didnt pay that day and thinking so far forward that i was imagining having to carry bottled water up 4 flights of stairs until they connected us. I did get into contact and they didnt seem to care to much that it was late. Meanwhile, my flatmate was on the couch eating cake, telling me to let them chase us for the money. Now thats the attitude im aiming for!

I think its this negative thinking, where we project the worst outcome into the future that keeps us from being as relaxed as some of our friends. Mind you, some of my friends are too relaxed!

Anyway, welcome hope to see you around,
Jay

Welcome kendra,
Thank you for sharing your story and support with us. There are many people within this support group that share the same questions and concerns as you. We are all a group of individuals who support each other.

If you look to the left of the screen under "TOOLS" you will find many supportive tests. These tests are not diagnostic tools and are not a replacement or substitute for a physician's advice. The purpose of these tests is to prepare you with information that you can present to your physician. When you're finished the test, you can either print your Final Report or email it directly to your doctor.

We also have developed a Panic Program. This program is 12-weeks and involves the tools mentioned above. Each session is based on the previous session, so we strongly advise that you work slowly through the program and not jump ahead.

These tests may or may not be for you but they are "free". If you have any question or concerns with our “TOOLS”, you can contact us at support@paniccenter.net. We are the Support Specialist for The Panic Center and are open to any questions or concerns you may have.

Pleas continue to strive forward and lean on us for support.

Welcome aboard, Kendraj!  I understand your bouts with anxiety very well, but keep doing what your doing with the anx groups and this place.  Both are a great help to understanding and overcoming your anxiety.

Look forward to seeing you around!

Hi Kendraj,

As you may have read in my "introduce yourself "write up I am a very negative thinker also and I am almost always thinking about the worst that could happen in different aspects of my life. As I mentioned I like to call myself a "what if" person because I am always thinking about the worst what ifs so I know how you feel!! Its really hard to not think that way when you get really scared/anxious about something...I find it really difficult to not think the worst. I find that is hard to focus on the positive things in life when you are always worried about the bad stuff that could happen. I would really like to try and find a group program as well that has people who are dealing with the same type of anxiety issues as I am because I find that talking about it really helps me! Anyway welcome to the forum!

Hi everyone. I just joined the site and I am really happy I found it.

I am 32 and I recently my anxiety has gotten worse. I have always suffered with this but for some reason it has gotten worse in the past few weeks.

I am a full time student in the education field and because I am a student I have to do presentations and talk in class. I am having a really hard time with this.

I have luckily found a local group that helps with anxiety and I am going to take a group program that I am hopeful will help.

I think my biggest problem is thinking too much, thinking way too far into the future and making assumptions. I can be a really negative thinker.

Anyways, thats it for now. I hope you all have a great day/night!

Kendraj
