Thank you everyone, for adding fuel to the fire this post is creating. Sometimes a little heat is all we need to melt away the ice on our hearts, no?
Miki: Kinda funny how sometimes we look back and wonder if we pushed too hard, only to realize we pushed just enough! That's the good thing about being kind-hearted, the push is always needed from people like you. As an added plus, nobody can ever tell you that you went through life without helping at least one person. I guarantee that one person helped someone else too, so you're just the start of a great chain of events!
Dee: Thanks for just being you. You're kids and husband are lucky to have someone who can show them that a struggle doesn't define a person, and it sure can't stop them.
Faryal: You're just awesome for dedicating your free time to help those in need (just as the other bi-lingual pro's here!). What you girls do is no joke, but I can attest it gets plenty of smiles.
Gene: Thanks for keeping the tow boat going. Enlightenment after enlightenment, you seem to be able to add the right touch, or start the right fire (considering this began with you). Like you, I'm overcoming my people pleasing nature, and in turn creating more success with the little things. After all, it's not about the quantity in life, it's about the quality of life.
And YES to "what is changing now is my attitude". Maya Angelou has a saying: "If you don't like something, change it. If you can't change it, then change your attitude about it". This truth is ringing louder then ever before, and helping with these sometimes cumbersome, regularly painful, but always worthwhile steps we must take in life.
What does Placebo add to the phrase? Aha, sorry I tried to look it up...but I'm coming back with a band from London?
Rofl, and let that force be strong in you. You're on the path to becoming a Jedi Knight!
And to anyone else who has a problem views this...feel free to jump in and respond. Bring a shovel! Who knows, you might dig it...
