Thank you very much to everyone for all of your wonderful replies! I had my acupuncture appointment today! Aggggh!! Of course, like any other anxiety stricken situation I've been put through, it went better than I thought it would. It was still very difficult, but I definitely feel very accomplished. We started out with talking and figuring out the symptoms, then she clipped this thing onto my ear lobes (haha) which does something with my alpha-waves in my brain...anyways, it did wonders and took me from an anxiety level of an 8, all the way down to a 3 or 4. Today we only did two needles and very easy spots on my legs. After the appointment I felt all dopey (she said to expect this) and it was definitely a weird feeling...but about a half hour later and I was at home...I started feeling a little different. This constant spacey-ness I have had decreased some! Of course I took a nap (bad idea) and woke up like usual feeling all groggy and queazy. I'll have to update you guys tomorrow on how I'm feeling! I also have another appointment set up for next friday. I figured if I'm taking this anxiety thing head on, I mind as well do as many different techniques at once. It doesn't matter to me which one works, just so long as something works or they collaborate together to do so. : )

Ivoryplum, Welcome to the group! I can recall an instance of a member who used acupuncture. If you use the search engine using the word acupuncture, you should be able to find it. The thread is entitled: new & wanting to say hi to everyone. You can also try copy/pasting this link into your browser: http://sg.paniccenter.net/support/viewmessages.aspx?topic=54070&forum=28&forumname=Introduce%20Yourself!&topictitle=New%20and%20wanting%20to%20say%20hi%20to%20everyone! Hello IvoryPlum Welcome. This site is wonderful, everyone is so supportive and we can say, and more importantly, feel anything and not feel bad or judged or alone in our thoughts! It has helped me immensely and I am so glad it is here! Post often because sometimes a problem shared is a problem halved. As for the acupuncture, I have never tried it but am extremely curious. Would you please let us know how it goes. Good luck! Michael

Welcome Ivoryplum I've always been curious about acupuncture but never been brave enough to try it lol... I'd love to hear how it works for you. I am definately for trying alternative methods. I've experimented with a lot of alternative therapies and although they have not "cured" my anxiety disorder they have definately helped and provide me with a lot of great tools. Aromatherapy is something I love... who knew your sense of smell could bring so much peace... put that with a message and everything melts away.. *sigh* Good luck and keeps us posted.

Thanks for your response Miki! My sister actually had basically the same exact thing as I do, and she said acupuncture is what helped her the most...so that is why I'm giving it a try. This will probably be the hardest thing I've done since I've gotten worse, but I really really want to push through it and hope for the best. My life has been put on hold for awhile, and I'm ready for it to come back.
