What's Your Goal - Part 2

Thank you very much for your support, I really appreciate it. And yes I have more triggers I want to tackle as some of my other exposure plans become more of a maintenance thing :) Thanks again! -Diva

Diva, Wow! You've been busy this week and are still making great progress! Keep it up! No, even though you read Session 12, chances are you're not done with all your anxiety triggers yet or have new ones you'd like to tackle. The end isn't near but you will likely start transitionning into a maintenance routine as your exposure work wraps up. Danielle, Bilingual Support Specialist

Hello, Today, I read the last session. Session 12. I was really nervous about it. I always feel a bit anxious when thing come to an end. Like somehow, I will feel like I need them back and such. Must be my seperation anxiety lol. But then I realized, I can still use my symptom tracker and use the forums and do my exposure work and do my thought challenging, I still have access to all my forms and all the review materials, so really what does it change that i read the last session lol? So here I am reviewing last week and setting my goals for next week since I figure my journey with this is not over and I will keep coming back here as long as it is something that feels positive in my life. So here goes: This week I did my fear of exercise exposure 7/7 days. But some days i did 45 or 30 mins instead of 60 minutes cause it was too hot! I also combined my walking with my interoceptive exposure twice. I did my interoceptive exposure 6/7 and combined it three times with my exposure work. I did my Having fun with the hubby exposure 5/7, it is now really a form of maintenace more then an actual exposure exercise. I did my cuddling with the hubby exercises 4/7 days, but I did mange to sleep in the bed with him two days in a row which was really nice. I did my lying in bed exposure work 6/7 days and as i said i slept in the bed twice, yesterday and the day before. So all in all I am super happy with my week. As for setting goals hmm... I think for next week I just want to keep everything the same. I am going back to work next week after being sick for a long time and then having my week off for vacation time. So going back to work will be a big thing for me. So I figure my goal is to successfully go back to work and maintain what I have been doing the weeks before. My other goal will be to make a new exposure plan for anothe rexposure goal and try and set that in motion in the weeks to come. So have a great week guys! -Diva

Well with being sick and everything last weeks exposure work and such did go out the window a lot. Plus all week before getting sick I had had a crazy week! So I am not going to review my last week. It is what it is; I had not planned on being so sick and such. But I will set goals for next week. Well first of all I intend to just take care of myself and get better. Then when that is done I intend to get back on track with the goals I had before. 1- Hanging with the hubby. It seems to work well the way it is. I find an hour a day seems to be enough to maintain me being comfy around him and feeling like I have quality time with him, so I will keep it as is. And I will try to start going out a bit more with my hubby when he feels up to it. 2- Getting used to being in my bed. I will step it up to relaxing in bed 30 minutes before bed every night. Also, I want to try and combining with my cuddling exposure and combine them on some nights. 3- Cuddling with the hubby. Well it will be a bit combined with the bed thing. Some nights we will cuddle on the futon and then he will go to bed and some nights I will go to him and cuddle in the bed with him. 4- Fear of exercise. Well I am already up to walking 1 hour. I already roam my neighbourhood if it is not too late. So I figure I will do three things to step this one up: a) I will try to actually get it done more then 5 times a week even though it is so hot around here lately. b) I will do my best to roam even further away from my home as I walk. c) I will try and increase my walking speed. I will have to take the summer heat into consideration here though. 5- Interoceptive exposure. Well I will keep it the same as last week. Everyday, I will pick two random interoceptive exposure exercises and get them done. I will try to get it done 5/7 days. Also, I will try to combine my interoceptive exposure with my walking and other exposure exercises more. Of course this will all start once I recuperate from this illness. Until then I am taking it easy. As for the sessions, I read session 11 today but I think it will be a few weeks before I get to session 12.

click on the forum section you want, like goal setting and Exposure planning. Then on top of the box, there will be a link called start a new discussion or something like that. Click on that and you should be able to post a new thread^^ Hope this helps! -Diva

Diva- How do I start a new discussion? I have done it once or twice and now can't seem to find the post new topic button. You seem very well versed on this site so I thought you would know. Thanks in advance and Happy Weekend!

Hmm after seeing what session 11 was about i decided to wait till i had combined my interoceptive exposure work and my exposure work together a bit more before i moved on lol. So i guess session 11 will be a goal for next week! -Diva :)
