Help, scared to take medication

I am allergic to Zoloft and Paxil but I have been told I should not take any other SSRI because since they are all one family of meds and I am allergic to two of them it is just too risky. So no doctor would prescribe me any SSRI anyway lol. As for the symptoms, I do not go into anaphylactic (have no idea how to spell that word in English btw shock if that is what worries you. My allergies are not that severe. If you have any other questions feel free to ask. -Diva

Queen, Continue to work with your pharmacist and doctor in regards to medication and dosages. They know your history and can be of value to you. Use the dairy to keep a record of your thoughts and feelings. This can help pinpoint areas that you can work on :) Josie ______________________________ The Panic Center Support Team.

Well, I personally cannot take Paxil because of the fact I am allergic to the medication class it is a part of and as such may not take it. But I have heard great things about Paxil. I have a relative who took it. She reported minimum side effects if not any. She said it really helped her. From what I hear, Paxil really is one of the better meds out there; if I wasn't allergic I would give it a go lol. Also, well it is not Paxil but it is in the same meds family, Zoloft, I know a person (one of my relatives who shall remain nameless lol) has taken for years now, she is at the minimum dose now and she is doing so well. Anyway, I know I sound pro-pill lol It is not that I am pro-pill but I am not anti-pill either. I believe that taking pills appropriately as needed and prescribed by your doctor along with a form of psychotherapy can be beneficial if it helps you get in gear for facing your fear and starting to challenge your thoughts. Anyway, As I said I can't tell you of my experience with Paxil since I am allergic to that kind of meds but people I know who took it felt it really helped them and helped also for them to calm down enough to start their therapeutic process. Hope this helps a bit. -Diva

HI All, I finally had my agoraphobia diagnosed and was prescribed Aropax(paxil) I am so scared.... I took half a tablet as recommended and now i have read all of these horrible things that the meds can do. Apparently it is not addictive but users say they have huge trouble coming off it. Research says that it can sometimes lead to self harm or harm to others. I dont want to scare anyone else, I just dont know what to do. Any advice would be fantastic Thanksyou ConquerQueen
