Hi Jen, Sounds like you have had a really tough time of it. I too have had days like that. Like I can't do anything but be afraid. This morning looked as if it was going to start off like that again so what I did was come onto this site right away. I did my symptom tracker then begin to read the postings. I find it so helpful when I am feeling alone and scared. I see so many others trying to stay on track. Now I feel like I can do the things I must do today. Keeping busy does really help. I hope things get better for you. :)

Yes Jen exactly start challenging those thoughts and that will be a really good start in the right direction. And mostly be kind and patient with yourself. Time and patience will do more for you then being angry and being unkind to yourself (this one i had to learn the hard way lol). Anyway, anytime you need to discuss something feel free to post it on the forums :)It is a good place to get advice and understanding. Remember: This too shall pass! -Diva

thankyou for the understanding and advice. It means so much to be able to discuss things and get replies. I think maybe things are feeling worse lately because i know it was around this time last year when i began having panic attacks and general anxiety. I feel that, by now, I should have improved in some way. I am terrified of the prospect of having 'lost' my life and being reduced to mere 'existence' for the remainder of my days. Yet I know if I challenge these thoughts-I am catastrophising. I am presuming my life is over, that I should end things now for there is no hope...but I have to challenge this; there is NOTHING to say i cannot regain my life, that i will not feel better tomorrow, next week, next month...i just need strength and patience

Hiya Jen, Sorry to hear you are having a rough time. I have been where you are now and i know it is a really horrible feeling. What i find that helps me get back in control is first i start by jornaling and eventually i see patterns of thoughts and such emerge in the journaling. From there i can pick those thoughts up and challenge them until i feel better about that particular thought then i move on to another one. It is not easy as focusing is hard at those times but i asure you when you manage to figure out what freaks you out and you can challenge it it really helps a lot. Also, good breathing helps a lot. Anyway, you are not alone in this many of us are going or have gone through periods like that before. Hang in there and this too shall pass! And btw i can assure you, you are not going crazy. That is just the anxiety talking. Anyway, i hope theese tips help you a bit. Hang in there it will get better, you can beat this! -Diva

jen, We know what your are going through. How about challenging that anxiety? Use the program slowly and read the knowledge provided. Be active in your progress and take it step by step. Use the Panic Dairy and continuously write down your thoughts, this can help pinpoint areas to work through. Let us know if we can help. hi, I feel as though lately my anxiety has gone into overdrive. I get up every morning to feel as though I'm on speed - and the rest of the day is some manic kind of blur where my mind is a constant montage of fragmented thoughts, voices, random songs, etc which i can't turn off. I end up like some twitching mess, rocking myself on my bed at night trying to will some calm to release me from it all and let me sleep.Or I end up in tears for hours.I truly feel as though i am losing my mind. Am i going crazy?
