Hi Angel Thanks for your suggestions, unfortunately I had returned before I got them. However I am pleased to say that I was o.k leaving for the trip and fine while there. I even ate three meals a day in a canteen full of about 200 children!! Wow - felt good about that. i did however have slight anxiety after lunch on the day we were leaving. I purposefully ate a light lunch but as soon as I left the canteen I felt my stomach start to go. I sprayed some Rescue remedy on my tongue and within about 10 minutes was fine. I wish I had a more powerful mind to help in times of need. I know positive thinking is a big help in this situations but it is hard to retrain the brain once it has learned such bad habits. I still avoid a few situations or spend too long analysing about what might happen in future situations. I know with practise and time I will be better. I look forward to that day. Thanks again for your wise words I will try and practise your suggestions. It's nice knowing someone is there to talk to you. :)

Hey wendy. HOw are you? I'm not sure if you already went on the trip or not. If you did, i hope you had a wonderful experience! Ok, i suggest you do some visualizations before you go. Here is what i mean: The night before and the morning of, just sit down, close your eyes. Imagine that you are going on this trip and that you DONT' have any anxiety or worries. Imagine yourself as healthy, energetic and excited as you can be. Imagine yourself laughing and having a wonderful time.....even while you are waiting to go. Truly feel that this is YOU. Just think of how you would act if you didnt' have any anxiety. What would you be doing? What would the air smell like? What would you look like? Would you be laughing and taking this easy? Once you do this visualization, it helps you feel what its really like to have a good time rather than worry. I'm not saying that its gonna get rid of anxiety that you had. But i beleive that visualizations are very powerful in helping us reach that goal.....that healthy YOU! Plz let us know how you did. I'm curious! Wish you all the best! Bye for now!

Thanks Josie I have started the panic program and i am currently trying to complete my exposure work. I find this difficult as some of the things that cause me anxiety I cannot expose myself to on a regular basis. I will keep persevering and thank you for your support.

Wendy, Welcome to The Panic Center. We thank you for sharing your story with us today. This support group is full of supportive individuals who may be able to help you answer some questions regarding panic and anxiety. If you look to the left of the screen under "TOOLS" you will find many supportive tests. These tests are not diagnostic tools and are not a replacement or substitute for a physicians advice. The purpose of these tests is to prepare you with information that you can present to your physician. When you're finished the test, you can either print your Final Report or email it directly to your doctor. This may better help assess the situation. We also have developed a Panic Program. This program is 12-weeks and involves the tools mentioned above. Each session is based on the previous session, so we strongly advise that you work slowly through the program and not jump ahead. If you have any questions or concerns with our "TOOLS" you can contact our support department at support@paniccenter.net. Take care and we hope to hear from you soon. Hi can anyone help? I have suffered with panic for just over four years and find that I now panic in situatiuons which previously caused no panic at all. I am a teacher and often find it difficult to put on a brave face when feeling anxious. I am going on a residential trip this Friday and although I feel OK at the moment know that I will become anxious when the morning comes. I know I will be fine when I get to our destination but find it really difficult while waiting to leave or waiting for someone to arrive. If I could just get to school and leave I would probably be fine. Does anyone have any tips on how I could overcome this? I try breathing and try distracting myself but the feeling I get in my stomach is often unbearable. I also find it really difficult to eat when I feel like this and often go all day without eating. Any suggetions? Thanks
