Hello
I have scheduled a few things and it did help. I have worked out 3 times this week already. I also got a few odds and ends done that I would normally procrastinate. Im going to stick with the scheduling. I also set reminders for myself with alarms and that seems to help.

Hi Grapeseed,
Were you able to schedule activities? Did you find scheduling helpful?
Thanks for sharing your thoughts with us!

Hi everyone
I also like the idea of scheduling things. I've been feeling really depressed and unmotivated lately...maybe it's due to the change in seasons? I keep waiting to feel motivated to do some big tasks I've been putting off. Perhaps I should wait for the motivation. I'm going to trybto get to it this weekend.
Thanks for the tips everyone. Keep them coming.
I am glad you found that helpful Midlifeguy. I found this helpful myself. You can't wait for motivation when depressed. Scheduling things that need doing is so important. It can also be helpful to schedule pleasant activities as well. Social activities can be difficult when depressed but they are very helpful for your overall well-being. Rewards are also great to schedule in after goals are complete. Scheduling really is an important life hack.
Please let us know how your scheduling goes.
Take care,
Ashley

Welcome logzmio!
I am glad you found us. Congrats on feeling a bit better and completing your first session. Try to complete one session a week and remember, the homework is the most important part. If you have to go slower, that is fine. Make the course work for you.
I hope you will be able to stick with it too. I know it will help you. One of the main symptoms of depression is lack of motivation. When depressed it is important to take action even without motivation. This is easier said then done of course. I am telling you this, so that you do not get discouraged if and when you lose motivation. Remind yourself lack of motivation is because you are depressed, not because the course isn't important enough. Schedule your sessions, and if you have to break the session down into smaller chunks, do so.
You can do this! I look forward to reading updates from you. If you have any questions or thoughts, it would really help the community if you could share.
What motivated you to look up articles now? What pushed you to search help?
Take care,
Ashley
I really appreciate your comment about reminding ourselves that feeling less motivated is the depression, and that it is important to take action without motivation. Scheduling activities and things that need to be done in my calendar has been very helpful for me looking back. I plan to start doing this more. thanks!
Hi logzimio.
I was thinking of doing the depression program too. Right now I am trying to stick to staying sober. It is working so far.
Let me know if you like the program. Maybe I will start doing the program with you...
I hope all is well over wherever you are.

hi everyone :)
I've noticed the forums are a bit slow recently.
I found out about evolution health by reading a paper about it (https://www.jmir.org/2005/1/e7) which I was reading because I was trying to find ways to improve my mood and fight my depression.
Although I feel better right now than I've felt for the last few years, I know I have work to do if I want to actually be ok.
Anyway, today I did the first lesson on depression and it was really good. The material here seems to be well thought and helpful. I hope I will have the will and motivation to stick to the program for the whole 4 months.
For now I will try to keep a record of my feelings and my mood and see how it goes.
