Congrats on 3 days Jenny81,

Wanting to make this work is the most important part! What has motivated you to get started now?

Thank you so much for such positive support Julie. I am only on day three but at least thats a start. Really appreciate the time you have taken to leave your comments...they have really helped.

Welcome Jenny81!  I found this forum such a support when I quit drinking. If you read through the different  threads you will find that many people have been where you are and have found their way through to the other side. It is certainly possible to quit entirely even though it may seem insurmountable now. There are many further supports online as well and different approaches work for different people. There is never a perfect time to quit. Gather your tools and your courage and keep posting with your questions, concerns and progress. Looking forward to hearing from you again.

Welcome to the forums. There are lot of exchanges you can read. For me, visiting local AA meetings helped. I learnt a lot about the situation and embraced the 12 steps and was able to overcome the obsession to drink and stay away from it for rest of my life as long as I keep working the steps.

Hi Everyone,

This is another day one for me but it is the first time I have ever used any sort of support group. I really want to make it work this time. Looking at some of the discussions giving up completely is possible as so many of you have done it. I hope that will help me start believing that I can do this.
