D1,

Wonderful to hear about your 21 days of no alcohol.  Congratulations!  Keep the momentum going.  Your successes of managing life without the numbing of alcohol will build and strengthen upon each other.

Yep it's Tuesday one more week of sober living, day 21. Not much to say about here I ve been posting everywhere fairly steady gray matter is a little empty right now, and wife has more work to get done, she has noticed a difference in my couch time to keeping busy time and is taking full advantage of it.

Just say to the newbies your day 21 is not as far away as you may think, and take note of some of the long term winners that have been checking in lately.

Day 30 here I come

Well done Drunk1!  14 days is wonderful and it sounds like you are feeling better physically already.  Some structure for each day and small goals sure help.  Of course, your ambition of quitting drinking is pretty huge and something to be very proud of.  Not buying alcohol will help the finances and hopefully answers will come clearer about work possibilities with sobriety.  Pulling for you.  Keep up the great work!

Day 14 stone sober.  Sleep patterns are more stable, find myself getting out of bed damn early, used to get up for a bit, decide I was still tired and not ready to face the world yet, liquor store wouldn't be open few a couple more hours and no enthusiasm to do anything else. So I would crawl back into bed, it was cold  and wet because I had sweated out seeming gallons of alcohol over night sure don't  miss that, and lay till I dosed off again. I may not be a poster boy for ambition,  been laid off work for a while money is short so it limits the projects I can do around the house, but I try to accomplish at least one smaller project throughout the day,  on top of house cleaning and meal preparations, and posting on AHC, I think I may have a touch of depression when it comes to the finnaces, but just get through each day in a positive note, or sit in self pity and remorse for my mistakes of the past, till that gets to boring and repetitious,  then think of something else or work on  meditateing, then get up and putter about,  but overall stick to zero drinks because right now that is what it is all  about.

The weekend started off with some challenges, I needed to take time out to collect my thoughts regroup and reapproach situations, I kept my cool did not let stress take over, did some deep breathing and got through the worst of it without considering alcohol as an option.  Cooked pancakes at a mother's day brunch where others were sipping on wine a champagne I opted for an orange juice and 7up with a watermelon slice thrown in it was quite tasty. The thoughts of actually drinking alcohol are deeply receeced but the thoughts of staying dry are forefront.

That's great to read!

I hope this past weekend was even better! How did it go?

It feels pretty good to have hit a milestone.  Getting through the weekend was my biggest concern but it actually went pretty smooth. I feel some what more relaxed with out the tug of war on whether to drink or not.
I learnt that I staying focused on the task at hand and not getting excited about the little things,  makes life more enjoyable and easier to cope with.
