The effects that alcohol has on behavior vary from night to night and person to person. This is due to Blood Alcohol Concentration, the amount of alcohol in milligrams per 100 millilitres of blood. How your body reacts to alcohol depends on several factors, such as:
Your weight: The same amount of alcohol has a greater effect on a lighter person than on a heavy person
Your Sex: the same amount of alcohol has a greater effect on a woman compared to a man. This is because women are usually smaller than men and men have more water present in their bodies which dilutes the alcohol.
Length of time drinking: The same amount of alcohol consumed quickly will have greater effect. The liver can only process so much alcohol at a time, therefore drinking quickly increases the amount of alcohol in the bloodstream.
Eating food: If you’ve eaten prior to drinking the food will slow down the rate at which alcohol enters your bloodstream and, therefore, reduce the effects of alcohol to some extent.
