out for lunch

Hi Nate,

I simply order a de-alcoholized wine or beer. There are also lots of "virgin" drinks to choose from since they simply omit the alcohol from whatever drink you choose. This way you still feel a part of things rather than sit there and feel like the odd person out. Most people don't even realize you're having a non-alcoholic drink. Works for me.

Nate,

Be the driver!
Just say no!
None for me today thanks!

Stand tall, abstaining does not make you a lesser individual!

It makes you stronger!

Whenever I have gone out for lunch with my parents and/or friends they always end up ordering a round of beers or drinks. In my quest to halt my over the top quantities of alcohol I've been consuming I obviously don't wish to join in with the drinks. Any advice on what I can say or do while out with loved ones that will allow me to not feel like I have to accept the drink(s) when or before they are ordered? keep strong everyone nate
