help! INNER SPEECH -SELF TALK

Outkast I can relate to what you are going through. The same exact thing happened to me. As I was reading your post I looked at your name because I thought I wrote it. It is amazing what anxiety can do to you. I felt as though I was "losing it" too. I was so scared and I just wanted to stop thinking. It will pass. You will calm down and you won't even realize that you are self-talking. Until that time; rest, relax and post when you need to. Take care of yourself.

It really is part of your anxiety. "Normal" people, everybody, has these thoughts constantly, but don't notice or pay attention to it. You always have an inner dialogue going on, that's human consciousness. Anxiety sufferers are so atuned to what's going on inside and out that we stop and take notice of every little thing other people take for granted. That's why so many posts on this site are of people worrying about "is this feeling normal?" "is this thought normal", be it physical or psychological, every little ache or pain or whatever. I think we have to learn to just let those be, get out of ourselves and take our mind off them... sounds easy, i know, and i still haven't learned how, but i'm in the process. Try CBT, it's what's best for this sort of thing.

since i have had anxiety its like it made me so much more aware of my thinking(inner sppech, self talk) this initialy made me think i was losing it or that i would start hearing another voice other than my own thoughts, (this is my main concern) i was wondering is evryone so acutely aware of their inner thinking as much as me? is it normal to ask your self q's & answer them etc etc inside your head, i have always been aware of my thinking but since my anxiety disorder has progressed this has become an obsession, i feel the need for constant reassurance that this is a normal part of anxiety, are non-anxious individuals aware of their thinking-if so do they just not over analyse their thinking. also when i have moments that i feel "normal" its like i have to obsess about something else to worry about, i can never seem to relax in my mind, whatdo "normal" people think about.....any comments on this would be helpfull.....thanks guys
