Hi everyone,

Welcome PJ!  Thinking of you and hope your are taking care of yourself and having a good start to your weekend!

Turquoise -  Enjoy a well deserved massage!

ElizabethRRRR - Really?!  Back to school already?  It's always hard to believe how quickly summer passes.  How do you feel about going back to school?  How does this change in routine affect your drinking habits?

marylizy - I'm sorry to hear you've been going through a rough time.  You mentioned drinking too much.  I imagine it is related to what is going on in your life right now?  Are you comfortable sharing what is causing you to be upset?  Let us know how we can help.  As you know, members are here to offer support and guide you on the right road

Oh, Turquoise, how did you know?

The first day for students is Monday. I have two days to get my head on straight.

Thanks for being here, all of you.

PJ, I agree with Ashley. Having struggled with food issues in the past, as well as alcohol issues, I know that food can be used in many ways as self-punishment, both overeating and not-eating. Please be good to yourself, PJ - you are worth it!

I did not drink last night, although I ate a lot more than I planned to. But I am not beating myself up over it. Today has been healthier, and I am starting to feel less stressed. I am one and a half days through my personal challenge, and still plan to go a whole week sober. So far, so good, and I bought a Groupon for a discounted massage, which I REALLY need, and plan to use next weekend as a reward for successfully meeting my challenge. Cheaper than two bottles of wine....

Anyone else have any personal challenges for this weekend? Sobriety? Healthy meals? Exercise? Drinking but not getting drunk? Maintaining control? Hey - they are all really good goals, no matter that they likely mean something different for each one of us.....

Hi Pj,

I'm quite concerned that you mentioned you have not eaten since Sunday. This can be dangers. Drinking water is good but your body needs nutrients to sustain it's natural process. Not eating is not only dangerous for the body but also for the mind. You cannot have a healthy, happy mind if you are not eating. Mental clarity is important for you now and you won't be able to have that if you do not eat. You mentioned you are attending out patient support, please talk to someone in person about not eating. I am concerned for your health.

Ah but that's not true PJ....we do need to hear it from you.  We all need to hear it from each other.  I am sorry but I need to ask...have you really not eaten since Sunday?  Water is a wonderful thing but it won't sustain you forever.  Compliments are also a difficult thing for me, but I am learning that people are sincere in paying me a compliment, I always thought there was an ulterior motive, but I'm learning otherwise.

Talk is a good thing, it helps to lift the spirits and to ease the burden of whatever is on your mind.  I hope that by joining our conversation, your healing can begin...whatever needs to be healed.

Again thank you for seeing things in me that I don't see.  I like to think of myself as a strong woman, but I feel very weak at times.  Facing the reality that I have a drinking problem has been very difficult for me.  I am ashamed of myself for allowing myself to become a problem drinker when I swore for years I would NEVER be an alcoholic.  I refused to become my mother and I would never, ever let my daughter see me drunk.  Boy did I tell myself a big fat lie.

Im not a medical professional.
I am looking forward to doing fishing with my pops and nephew on the weekend.

As you have most likely seen, Im a person who feels talking works the best.

It took a lot of effort to even get support without phone access, but I was able to dig and dig and find it.

Its a very large reflection on you.

I (dont like to hear compliments because I think its all a big lie)  but I really do mean it.

The only issue I am dealing with is lack of eating since Sunday, and putting enough water in me to keep going.

No sleep, nothing.

I know things can get better, I know if I keep my head high, I can (deal with it)

Recovery is what will keep me healthy.  Ive lost friends everything (you dont need to hear it from me)

PJ
