With my deepest sadness, I will be dispelling from the website. This has nothing to do with legal or suicidal issues. I want to make it clear that I am not leaving due to drinking. I have a lot of personal things to deal with, which I'm sure will take months to conquer.
Everyone, hang in there, never let your head get to low. You have all been absolutely fantastic people to me. I am very thankful for every kind word you have all granted me.
I would love to write more, but I'm feeling sad to say goodbye. I will end with this "Opinions only fall flat on minds who are not open - PjH" Much love.
Yes, it's never too late to go back to school! absolutely! Good for you:) (My uncle went back to school at the age of 50 and became a doctor! He's my hero:)
Marylizy that's a great idea....babysitting dogs is a lot more fun than waking up hungover on New Years day. At this point I'm not sure if I'll go out or not. I may have to work because we are finally going live with the new software. I think it won't be too long before I lose my job and honestly I look forward to it. I'm actually hoping for it. I think it would be the perfect opportunity to go back to school and do what I've always wanted to do, be a nurse. I am getting older but Im never too old to go back to school. I would get a great severance package too. So now that the new software is active, and my job will be moved to another country, I am thinking its better to wait for the large severance rather than quit for a new job and lose out on a good chunk of money. Anyway I'm rambling....I would love to do something to ring in the new year but as of right now, it's up in the air.
ElizabethRRRR it's great to see you on here...I hope you're doing well. Anytime you need support we are all here to listen and help however we can.
Last night was the first night in about a week that I had no alcohol. I'm going to try again tonight but my BFF is coming for a visit and we may have a drink together. I will be controlled if I do have a cocktail.
I hope you had a good Christmas. What do you have planned for New Year? I am staying home and watching my neighbors 3 german shepherds while he goes away for 3 days. Gives me a good excuse not to go out which I had planned to do but have changed my mind so cancelled the hotel room I had booked in town for the night. Feels better starting off not partying and staying sober. Take care and hope you will keep posting.
I wish you much success into the New Year! It sounds like all of you are planning ahead and determined to go the extra steps necessary to reach your personal goals of breaking free of alcohol.
Of course you have our continued support. Please keep us posted with regards to the programs, how they are helping you, what insight you gain etc...
Marylizy congratulations on making the decision to attend AA, that's a huge step. I am hoping the best for and I know you can do this. I too am going to make a serious effort to make a change in my life as well. This drinking is starting to take its toll on me. I have been off work since Friday and have had drinks everyday, however I have been more controlled than I usually am. I did drink Caesars the night of my dinner party and I drank a lot less than normal, I also made sure that I had no more than an ounce per drink and in some cases it was less than that. I drank wine the next night and got drunk but not to the point of blacking out. Christmas eve I was very controlled and again last night I did good again. Today my brother and his family are coming over, I am planning to abstain.
Turquoise you are also doing great. I hope you had a wonderful Christmas. I agree with you about the new year....I am looking forward to starting with a clean slate. I look forward to the changes that will take place and I'm going to do my best to be abstinent for very long periods of time if not permanently.
I am also considering seeing a counsellor to help me deal with this problem. We have an EAP program at work and I think it might be time to take advantage of it.
I hope each and every one of you are having a wonderful holiday season. Enjoy the remainder of this year and may we all look forward to a whole new outlook in the new year.
