I'd urge you to talk to your Dr. One of your other posts mentioned getting the shakes - that's a sign of physical addiction. Your Dr. can help you or get you help to make the withdrawal less unpleasant and less dangerous. Alcohol withdrawal is unpleasant, and can also be dangerous. I've had withdrawal seizures. Better safe than sorry.
I am an alcoholic, moderation is totally out of the equation. I had to quit and seek spiritual solution. with the help of the 12 steps of AA i will be completing 5 years next month.. Hoooo Hooooo.
Because my kids are gone I feel this intense pressure to fix it all at once. Setting a long term goal is in direct conflict with my immediate needs.. Quitting is hard enough without the clock ticking.. what other choice do I have. The stress of having them gone is making me physically ill but defeat is not an option for me (us).. Like I said, "fight of my life"
