Hi ~m,
Thanks for posting your favourites - it's great to share these inspiring words of support.
I hope you had a good weekend, and I extend my hand to offer support through a lovely Sunday.

I like the personal nature and positivity of this tradition which we have let slide. It used to really help me stay on track each and everyday... especially the weekends. I miss doing it.

When anyone, anywhere reaches out for help, I want the hand of AA always to be there. And for that:  I am responsible. - Bill W (Co-Founder of AA)

Well, it's that time again... The Friday Support Pledge:

I pledge to stick to my cut back plan through the weekend and be available to give support to other members as well as be willing to ASK for the help I need to keep my pledge.

What are your plans for the weekend?  Will you extend your hand in friendship and support the next member in line?  Gawd knows we need it!

Hello Charmain,
You may want to pick up a copy of the Big Book (aka Alcoholics Anonymous). If the group you are going to, does not carry an inventory, then probably you need to search for a group that carries one.  While modern day AA, propagates going to a meeting a day (just the fellowship), they forget there is something called the program of AA, namely the 12 steps. You need to understand the powerlessness over alcohol and the un-manageability of the first step, before you dive into the reminder of the program. Thats where the book comes to our help.

Good Luck.

I have realized that I have to stop the " doing the same things over again and trying to get different results".
I want a better life and have to change some things right now like my job etc. I need to look for something else
in a clear head and can't keep sabotazing myself with alcohol to keep putting up with the same old crap.
At 56 years old. I thought who cares. It's too late for me to change. But with prayer and guidance, I realize it's
that if woke up in a year from now in this same state my life is in right now, I would be just sick.
I'm going to a meeting tommorrow nite. :)
Thanks for your welcoming.

Welcome back Charmain,

Congratulations on 5 days!  You are off to a great start. Sorry to hear you are feeling tired.  Take care of yourself now and rest if you need to.  Your body is healing right now.

The trouble sleeping is temporary and remember your sleep is more restful when you are not drinking.  Try to do relaxing activities in the evening in order to prepare yourself for bed time.

How would it feel if you were able to get your life back on track?  What makes this important to you?
