No problemo Smiffy!

I feel special to get one whole post dedicated to me

I like these questions so I am going to answer too if you don't mind.........

One month - I will feel better, look better and be so excited that i am doing it!

One Year - I will look fantastic with so fewer calories and more sleep.  I will have accomplished more and appreciated more.  I will no longer be living in a fog of hhangover or drunkness.  I will remember what it is like to be happy without booze.  I will be proud of myself......I could go on..........

Thanks for the motivation!

Smiffy,

Don't feel like a failure.  Failure just means you are still trying.  Keep trying and if that means failing a few more times then so be it. Just keep trying.  Good for you for posting here to try to get motivated. This is the right place to come for motivation.

Have you tried cutting back?  What did you learn from your last slip?

What do you think your life would look like if you quit drinking for a month? A year?

Please think about these questions and post your answers if you feel up to sharing.

Hello Ashley

Thankyou for your support..it  is good to hear from you.  I am not sure what will get me back on track as there are a lot of issues I am trying to deal with.  However, being honest with myself, I know deep down that even without worries I would still be hitting the bottle!  I hope the fact that I have posted here kicks my head into wanting to try again.  I feel such a failiure but know I must keep trying to stop. I wish you and everyone on this wonderful site good luck and I send my good wishes

Hi Bella Sea1 and Chuck!

Welcome to AHC..the best site in the world you can find! The folks that post here are the most genuine people you will ever find to help you along the most difficult road in life!

I want to say to you all that this is such a long road to go down  but the fact that you are here prove that you are ready for that journey, ..a journey that if YOU want to go on YOU can achieve your final destination!  Dont despair if you fall as long as you keep trying!!!

Not sure what has prompted me to post again after so long but you guys seem to be where I want to be.  I  joined last year and  have had so many positives , succeeding for many weeks then falling back to the 'old' ways.  I sit here sadly with a drink in hand and back to my old ways drinking far too much each evening. Where will I stop..I probably wont until I am hammered!

However my old motto is ..Never give up trying to give up...so I keep trying!  There is unfortunately there is no easy way..as I found out..but I am back here again hoping I can gain some inspiraqtion with the support of you all to kick my ar.. into gear and try again.

Big John Wren and all the mods..please help me again!  I send my old buddies my love support and best wishes

Hi Bella,

Welcome to the Alcohol Help Center and congratulations on taking the first steps to getting the help you need.
Start working through the program, a big component of it is learning about yourself so you can better understand your addiction.
Some people find that taking a break from drinking for a while really helps them get control of their alcohol use.
Start reading through the forums. I think you'll find there are many people out there you can relate to. The forum is also full of suggestions and will you offer you the wisdom of many diverse experiences in relation to alcohol addiction.

Check back soon and let us know how you're doing. We're always here to answer any questions you may have or to provide you with feedback.

This is my first time here.  I just want to introduce myself and welcome the company in this battle.  I don't know how to even start this whole thing, but I hope I'm on the right track.  Hopefully I'll have a lot of support.
