Welcome VL,
I am sorry to hear your depression has been worse for the last few weeks. When did you start taking your medications? Many medications take a number of weeks before they begin to work. I think it is a good idea that you want to speak to your doctor. Try to make notes of how you are feeling daily and then bring this information to your doctor. Your doctor would be the best person to advise you on medications you should be taking. We cannot give you medical advice.
You may also want to work on the Depression program here. Knowing some Cognitive Behaviour Therapy could give you some skills that would help you to manage the depression in the best possible way. I encourage you to begin with session one and take about a week for each session, being sure to complete the corresponding homework. If you have any questions please let us know.
Keep us updated on how you are doing please.
Take care,
Ashley
Hello to everyone,
I have been struggling with Bipolar 1 disorder for the past 4 years. I have always coped with this by drinking and partying when I was feeling great and fading away to the couch and not moving when feeling down. I have never opened up about this to anyone for fear of being judged. The reason I decided to open up this time is because I have been trying to deal with this depression for 2 weeks now. It has been one of the worst I have had in over 2 years. I am tired of this roller coaster and need to find a more positive way of dealing with it. I have started taking my meds for mood stabilizers but it is not helping my depression any. I just need some help with what I should say to my doctor, what meds help with bipolar depression. I am just looking for anything that may help.
Thanks everyone for taking the time to read.
