Hi Red!

Great to hear from you. Reading is a great strategy. Nothing like escaping into a novel.

Thank you for sharing,

Ashley

I curl up in a warm bed with my Kindle, reading one of my many mystery novels until I feel relieved and relaxed enough to fall asleep for a little while with my trusty friend in my hand. I do this several times through out the night and sometimes during the day while reading just about anything.

I have some Chronic autoimmune health issues that leave me physically, mentally and emotionally exhausted. I am very aware how hard the Fight or Flight response is on my health, body and mind.

So this reading that I do is the one positive distraction that helps me the most to get a little relief from the anxiety and depression that I feel.

Members,

What are things that help you relax, energize and feel fulfilled?

Write down a list of things that bring you pleasure and joy. This could be as simple as riding a bike, a morning coffee, a nature walk..

When you find you need a distraction or some inspiration, then pull out this list and incorporate one of the items in your day.

What did you do? How did you feel afterwards?

Ashley
