Starting the smoke free journey

Welcome Cornelius!

I am so glad you have started to cut back on cigarettes. That is great! I encourage you to talk to your doctor about possible quit aids. There is no evidence that ecigs help people quit smoking. It actually reinforces the habit and can also be harmful to your health.  There are other options that research says are effective in helping people quit.

No matter what you decide, the fact that you are working on cutting back is amazing! Keep going.

Tim,
She does smoke, but we do not smoke in the house. She has talked about quitting, but has not shown any real signs of being proactive. I did let her use my ecig to take to work.

Plans are to transition over to the ecig completely, then perhaps try chantix or something in that realm to transition off of the nicotine.

Hi Cornelius,
I wish you the best on your quit journey. Ecigs are still bad though. Hope you give that up too. Does your wife smoke in the house? My wife still smokes but she goes outside when she has one. Is she thinking about quitting smoking too?
Stay strong.

Monday I smoked 5 cigarettes and Tuesday(yesterday) I smoked 4. I still have not gotten around smoking that first cig in the morning but working on it! Yesterday was a day with our personal trainer and I did feel a little better during our work out. I also had an improvement on the row machine!!!

I have not completely quit. Started on a saturday, and my wife smokes, so getting cigarettes out of the house completely is impossible. I did only smoke a total of around 14 the entire weekend, which is less than half of what I normally smoke in a day.

Today, I smoked one this morning, but did not bring any cigarettes to work. Just the vape...

Recently me and my wife joined a gym, and decided to get a personal trainer. I began to realize if i truly wanted to live a healthy life I'd have to stop smoking. So yesterday on the way home I bought an ecig (JUUL). Today I began using it, and so far I've only had 2 cigarettes (it is currently noon), normally I would have smoked at least 10 - 15 by now.
