Hi Drama Teacher,
Congratulations on being a quitter! Over a week and a half already and your attitude sounds great. I used the patch too, at the start, and it really does help to take the edge off. I hope you're not that miserable due to the surgery, and like you said, what a great time to quit! Anytime is a great time, but actually starting a quit, no matter the reason is what it's all about. Kind of makes you wonder why you didn't try and quit sooner since it's going so good doesn't it?  It sounds like it might even be easier than dealing with all those kids at school! Sorry teach, I couldn't resist.  Be sure and keep your guard up, the triggers are everywhere.
I wish you the best on  your journey, and stay strong!

Hi Guys!  Smoked for over 25 years, recently had emergency oral surgery, decided it would be the best time to quit since I would be miserable anyway.  I am on day 11 on the patch.  It is not as bad as I thought it would be; the mornings are the worst.  I love the way I smell and I don't have to be afraid of getting too close to people.  I really am optimistic about this.  I am a teacher and feared quitting in the summer because I have so much time on my hands, but I think if I can do this, then I definitely can continue it while working.  Hope all of you are doing well in your quest to be finished with these nasty things.
