Day 12 and Going Strong

8 years ago 0 11226 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
Hi Geena,

Congrats on over 12 days quit!  Smoking dreams are very common during a quit. I have heard many members post about it - if you do a search on smoking dreams you will be able to read the discussions.

If this dream helps you to be more cautious then that is a good thing. It sounds like a small slip has lead to relapses in the past so it makes sense that your mind and body would be on guard. How did the dream make you feel?

This is my first post here. Today is my Day 12 AND the urges have stopped. But somehow I feel that there is a devil lurking in some corner. The last time I had quit I was fine till 8 weeks after which I accidentally found 2 cigs in my cupboard hidden away. Well I was a closet smoker and I used to keep hiding cigs in my cupboard. When I had found those, I though - Big Deal! I had stopped and I know I can stop after these two....BUT I got hooked again and that went on for another 3 years almost. I had attempted to quit for these years but could never sustain for more than 24 hrs. This is the first time I have managed till DAY 12. And yes I have learned a lesson. I feel thrilled. The thing is I cannot share it with my people - they all think I have quit! So you can understand I need support and encouragement. I am writing this because last night I had a very vivid dream of me finding 4 cigs in my closet and had actually in my dream decided to start trying to quit after I smoked those 4!. Woke up to find it was only a dream - but then - was it also a wake up call? Not to be complacent?
