starting to quit tomorrow

Hi Shelto,
I'd suggest that you go through the program at the top of the page. It will give some insight and help prepare you for your quit journey. What works for one person may not work for another. Basically it's up to each individual as to the path they take for their journey.
Try doing a search in the message forums using key words like routine, change etc.
You can also try and make smoking a real pain in the *** for you. Like force yourself to go outside to have one, rain shine or snow, put a dollar in a jar each time you light one up, whatever makes it inconvenient and/or uncomfortable for you. Eventually you'll get fed up and say enough of this, I QUIT!
Try and learn as much as you can to prepare yourself for what lies ahead. That way you can be ready to confront the issues you'll face one at a time. If you don't know what to expect, you won't know how to fight it.
Have you thought about NRT, nicotine replacement therapy? Chantix (sp), the patch etc? Some people do not care for it, others have quit with it's help, (I'm one of them) and some try cold turkey. Whatever works for you, that's all that maters. If something doesn't work, try something else.  Whatever you do, don't give up trying!!!

I just need some advice of what has worked for you.  Every morning the first thing I think about when I wake up is smoking.  That's what I do.  I always thought if I can get over that routine it would help to make a fighting chance at a start.  Any Suggestions?
