50 year of smoking..now quit

7 years ago 0 3 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
I'm close to your age. At 62 and smoked for 45 years. Granted, I had many stops and restarts over the years. I sure hope this is the end of the habit. At our age it's so important to try to do whatever we can to preserve what we have left. I'm sure you've had people close to you pass away and it makes us realize that life is precious and how we treat our bodies is a lot in our hands. I am using patches again and for me they work really well to eliminate the physical need to smoke. Soon enough I will leave the patches and be on my own I don't really follow their plan to the t and will drop the level of the patches every 2 weeks or less. There are days I forget to put one on...and I still get thru the day, so it must be a,lot willpower as well. Please feel free to reply and use me for support if you need, while still fresh in the quit cycle myself I can sympathize with what you are dealing with.

Hi Everyone
Aged 63...smoked almost 50 years. On day 8 of my quit. Is there anyone my age I could chat to?
I think I'm in shock...I'm so thrilled. Who will this woman be who is a non-smoker? I do know...because I've not seen her since she was 14!
