Quitting soon !

Welcome rubylocus,

It sounds like you have a great quit plan and you are ready to get started. Many people are scared when they first quit - with some time and confidence the fear should subside. Withdrawal symptoms can be uncomfortable but remember that they are temporary. How did you get through the withdrawal symptoms in your previous quits?

Hello ! I'm new to this site, I'm 24y/o been smoking since I was 14, pretty scared to quit. I've quit before, once cold turkey when i was 17 for a month, and once with the e-cig when I was 21. Going to stop smoking starting on June 1 and I'm using the nicotine patches I got in the mail from the NY Quitline. Also, listening to Allen Carr's Stop Smoking (online, on youtube there is an audio book i've been listening to of his) and that has been helpful and motivational.
Any tips and suggestions would be great ! a bit scared of the side effects of quitting since I've been smoking for ten years ! Ahhh. Especially afraid of with drawl symptoms ! I wish there was a community in-person group like AA that we could all go to ! I feel like that might help !
