Welcome LivingLIFE,

Thank you for sharing your experience with us. It sounds like you have already put a ton of hard work into this. Congratulations on one month! Amazing work. It is normal to have cravings and some withdrawal symptoms still at this stage. Check out the section on withdrawal symptoms in this program for some helpful tips.

HI. English is not my native language hope you understand my story :D

 Quit date: March 25 2016 (9YRS SMOKING)

10-15 sticks a day average

I started smoking when i was 14 yrsS old. Around March 2007 and it took me 9 years to finally quit this bad habit, in which my parents encourage me to do it a long time ago but I disobeyed haha. I live in the Philippines and maybe some of you knew that cigarettes here are very cheap and can be purchase via per piece pack(20pcs). I cant tell you also how much it is in Dollar price since it depends on the forex exchange rates

The reason I decided to quit(hopefully it will succeed via cold turkey) is I got panicked about my health. My UTI wast back again, Eye vision adjusted again. And felt a numb area on my left foot, but not whole of it. Forgot to include that i had a puppy in the house that scratched my left foot particularly near where i felt a numb part.

1ST WEEK SMOKE FREE

So i got so worried and since i live alone here. I got no one else to took care for me that time.

One time i went to the hospital near my home for checkup. By the time me and the doctor where talking about my left foot part got numb I suddenly brought up that the dog scratched my left foot. So he advise me to go the hospital who have ABC (animal bite center) facility since they don’t have that. Luckily I remember a hospital and went to it as quickly since it’s almost dawn that time

To make long story short. I got vaccinated and finished the program in which the dog is still alive until now. As for smoking I experience foggy mind. Fatigue, headaches, pain is at minimal that time i don’t know why. My suspicion of UTI again is confirmed by the doctor and he prescribed med also.

2nd week

This 2nd week is considered hell week to me. in fact I experience anxiety irritability, depression. Confusion on what the hell is happening in my body. Aches and chest tightness are starting to bother me this time. I went to the hospital again but in different hospital since the hospital where I got vaccinated is too far from my home. The hospital that I went through is near on my neighborhood. I talked to doctor concerning a lot of things this time like request if my UTI is gone (I got my suspicion of UTI confirmed on the hospital where I got vaccinated), UTI Relation to my numb part of my foot? And probably the cause why it is numb if not UTI?  And withdrawal symptoms of quitting smoking since it started to bother me this week. The doctor told me that UTI has nothing to do with my numb foot, hence he prescribe me a multivatimin neruobion and gave me forms for laboratory work such as SGPT, cholesterol, FBS CBC, urinalysis. Told me to get back as soon I am done with the labs. And about the withdrawal symptoms he just  told me to its normal to experience that but he didn’t prescribe me anything about it. He even mentioned that maybe I am the one doing those aches in my body because I am too stressed about what is happening in my body. In the end he congratulated me for quitting and keep it up

Before 2nd week end I managed to finish the labs the he requested and went to the him right away. He read the result and told me everything is fine. UTI is gone now but my SGPT is way to high. And I was like what the hell? My first concern is why my left foot is numb and then I discover that I have a high sgpt in which he said my liver is inflamed. He prescribe me to take liver aide also and make a follow up after two weeks regarding my liver and issue again a lab work about hepa A and B profile, lipid, bilirubin

3week

3rd week comes I experience lots of aches all over my body, especially my chest!  Confusion, anxiety, irritability, and depression is getting on my nerves now. I went back again to submit the lab results he requested me a week ago without SGPT . Told me lipid and bilirubin is good but he told me something about hepa A and B. Base on what I understood is that I got a recent infection but got an antibody to hepa b something like that and I also mention to him that I got a vaccine for hepa B last 2011 but didn’t finished the doses. As far as I remember it should be 2 or 3 doses right?. Before we end I brought up again my withdrawal symptoms again especially the aches that I feel in my stomach, back, chest, and ask him to check it out or is there is something to know or do. He auscultated my chest, touch my stomach, if I would feel pain. And surprsingly I felt no pain. I told him that my pain is not local it’s just like the pain is travelling all over my chest-stomach-back. So for my peace of mind sake he requested again a lab work consisting of ultrasound for abdomen whole, anti hbc igg, and reminded me to have my sgpt for next week. He even ask me if I want chest xray and ecg included but I said no. But later on when I went to the lab to finished his request I included the chest xray and ecg

4th week

My aches all over my body seem to disappear. Feel headaches sometimes, nausea also. Went back to the doctor again for the lab results he requested me. Told me ECG and xray is good nothing to worry about. Also my whole abdomen ultrasound is ok, no kidney stone. But the liver is fatty. Sgpt went down almost a hundred which he said a good thing. Since summer time here in the Philippines he advice to drink a lot of water not to worry about. In my opinion is that maybe the  pain that I experienced last week is due to tension and I don’t know it this is what they called quitters flu haha/ but atleast I have my peace of mind that my heart, lungs, kidney, and etc is ok. My liver is starting to recover and lastly my numb foot is ok now

5th week

The only week that I have time for my eyes because I was too focused on my aches and kinda prioritized them first and total forgot my eyes. So I got my eye checkup and she prescribed new eyeglasess. Which the optometrist said my astigmatism got worse and I have some light sensitivity. This week I still feel nauseous, headache sometimes and anxiety, is still here. And I don’t know what am currently feeling right now on my feet and hands. Feels like light pain haha. I can’t really describe it. I have a scheduled follow up again this 6th week of my smoke free journey to the doctor for my SGPT monitoring. And planning to visit ophthalmologist for peace of mind.

Summary. After a month of smoke free I still feel cravings sometimes it’s too strong. Irritability, anxiety also. Headaches and nausea in which I don’t know if its still related to withdrawal or maybe in my eyes since am not used to wearing glasses haha

Overall I thank my self for everyday pass I Am smoke free and able to stand near against smokers which happened to be my friend haha.
