hello, this is my 3rd attempt and in other two of them i wasnt really thinking of it.
the think is i have bronchiectasis and amphyzem.and they are really bad,i always coughing blood
the doctor said i must stop smoking if not i can need even a transplation when i am not so old
my problem is i cant motivate myself.whenever i find a reason smoking always win.and this is my second day with the patch and i realize its more than nicotine seeking its a seeking habit.and i dont know what to do.people around me are not supportive and all of my coworkers and family smokes but i live alone,
anyway this is my story
I dont think you need any motivation.. You need to quit smoking for your own health..Dont let the opportunity go wasted..

It will be tough for sure.. You need to distract your mind from smoking and get busy in interesting things which you like..

Hi,

If I may suggest, try reading Allen Carr's The Easy Way to Stop Smoking.  It really helped me to understand the realities of nicotine addiction and the simplicity of the withdrawal symptoms.  In other words, so much of what we have been taught about smoking is an illusion.  You can find the book in a pdf format.

I wish you success.

I saw your note and signed up just to tell you this.
1 - smoked since I was 12. 2-3 and a lot of times 4 packs a day.
2 - 3-4 cigars (good handrolled cigars) per day
3 - sometimes a pipe

Two weeks ago had massive heart attack. Cardiologist said other than nicotine I was very healthy and have a healthy life style. Don't drink - don't have a weight problem.

Before this I have quit and used various forms of nicotine. Nicotine is a cardio vascular constrictor. There are no safe delivery systems although some are worse than others.

You can do this. If I can quit you can quit.

When I think about smoking - you know that great feeling when the smoke filled your lungs and that fullness in your chest. - Guess what - ever have a heart attack those are the same places that you will hurt - and it hurts. I spent about 1-1/2 hours in cardiac arrest - when they cathed me I was still in extreme cardiac arrest - had to be left awake if they put me under I would have died.

Smoking caused this problem. It will kill you. Please go walk - eat a mint - what ever you need to do - the pain of withdrawal is nothing compared to the pain of continuing.

You can do it I did it once  and was off smokes for  almost four years silly me thought trying just a puff, then a  cigarrette, or smoking only socially wouldnt affect  that... but it did so here I am starting again this time is for real. Once you can control it it feels so good, you save money, you dont stink, you feel much better  and smels and tastes seem to be quite different. You can do it dont break yourself think on the  reward of all I have mentioned.
