I have faced similar situations many a times..Best way to come out of it, is to stop thinking about smoking and try to get involved in some enjoying stuff..

Hi emmanuelle. I'm empathetic to your situation and feel your pain. This is day 2 for me. I expected the withdrawal symptoms to be bad, but not this bad. 
 
I feel just...BLAH. Work is excruciating. I hate everyone. I'd probably even hate a puppy if I saw one. I've had a headache all day. The worst though is just this overall blah feeling. Like I don't care about loved ones, or anything really right now. I've dealt with depression before but this is a whole new level. I used to battle it by trying to think positive. Now, all I can think is just null or numb. Like I'm completely encompassed by a horrible, pitch black cloud of cravings.
 
People have suggested go pick a flower, go ride a bike, go for a walk, etc...Sadly, I have zero energy for those things. My cravings aren't terrible. Mostly I want a cigarette just to make these symptoms go away :(

Hi emmanuelle,

 I am sorry to hear that you have not been feeling well. Fatigue and depression are common withdrawal symptoms. When you smoked, nicotine triggered the release of neurotransmitters in your brain. These neurotransmitters are responsible for good mood. When you quit, it isn't uncommon for your mood to take a nose dive.

This case of the blues is temporary and until it passes, there are a few things you can do:

* Exercise as it releases endorphins and these are also conducive to good mood.

* Rewarding yourself with something pleasurable. This triggers the same release of neurotransmitters we mentionned.

* Get outside and get adequate rest as these also affect your mood.

yes, its normal and some time you may feel headache. But you can cross this period with some light workouts to divert your mind like walking, running etc..i makes your body fresh and clean the blood... dont give up

I'm on about day 18 of my quit using NRT. Up until now I've been fine with more energy than usual but these past few days have been feeling depressed and tired and seem to be missing smoking more. Is this normal? I am prone to depression so it could just be that but I seem to miss the fact that smoking helped when tired. I must remember all the bad stuff about smoking! Anyone else on a bit of a downer?
