Hi

I quit 1 year back believe me it is easy only have to focus 1 hour at a time and remember there is only Smoker & Non Smoker Pure binary system ( 0 or 1).
It is a few day there is pull after that no carving and it is nicotine doing all.

I used to imagine smoker as a poor person standing at the bottom on mountain and who does not know what it is  to be at the Top of mountain and feel the breeze.

THIS SITE LEAD ME TO QUIT and when today I look at my carving diary I am surprised that at any time I used to carve so much for smoke

ALL THE BEST and ANY SUPPORT ALL ARE HERE .

Cheers

Hi Rosy Quit, Unfortunately I believe it is a life monitoring... I've used Zyban on my first quit seven years ago. It was really good. But I went back to the nicodemon after three years clean. On my second quit, three years ago, I've tried Chantix and relapsed after six months. Now, I'm using Champix (the name is different here in Brazil) again and the things are going very well. But hey, good news, the symptons of cravings and withdrawal that you have experiencing will disappear in a few weeks! Don’t over exert yourself. This bad feelings will go away in a few weeks! If I had problems in my attempts, does not mean you also have the same failures. I just trying to say that , yes, you must be on guard for many years., maybe the rest of your life. But it does get easier! We are together and Stay strong ??

Congratulations Rosy on your decision to kick that nicodemon in the butt!

I'm just past my first year quit after 38+ years of smoking.  The Liberation is phenomenal!

Congratulate and reward yourself Every Day.  I used a different perfume every day, cycled through them.  Just smelling my wrist when I had a craving helped.  Why?  Because I could actually smell it :).

Initially it is difficult but it does get easier, and easier and easier.  You Can Do It!

Hi IFDI

I used chantix which really helps, I'm 13days smoke FREE nearly 2 weeks.  The precription is for 3 months is that enough to be really "cured from the demon" or will he still be waiting to attack?  I've read a letter in the forum this guy said the 1st year was difficult but the second year is worse (cravings)  Should you be on your guard for the rest of your life?
To me the first week was not easy smoking was a way of life a very bad habid, at times I still feel empty as if I miss something that was part of my life for more than 30 years.  I try to meditate early in the morning it give me a more inside look into myself and it reduce the anxiety (which I'm still strugling with) this anxiety started when I quit the first 3 days was the worst I got anxiety attacks 10 to 12 times a day but after that slowly but surely it reduced to one or two attacks when I started my second week.  Yesterday (day 12) was my 1st day since I quit that was anxiety free.

Thank you for your support and would like to hear from you again

Enjoy your smoke free day and life

Rosy,
I wish you all the luck in the world. It does get easier. I have been smoke free for almost a year. It's amazing how much better you feel and how much you realize it controled your life. truly a demon if there ever was one. What method are you using to quit?

Hi Whisper

Thanks for the support

Today is my 8th day I'm trying to stay positive but this demon still chasing me at times but must admit today was a lot easier that the previous seven.

I was able to concentrate better aswell.  I suppose I must just keep staying focused and I feel better about myself

Thanks again for your support I find it very helpfull

Hi there Rosy Quit and Catnip.
What a great decision. Both of you have already succeeded in the toughest part of the quit... the first 3 days!

Keep reading and posting on here - it is a real support. Let us know how you are both doing.

Stay strong and take care.
