Day 7 and hurting, playing mind games with myself

Hi Greeneyes,

Congratulations on one month smoke-free!  Just remember to have strategies ready for when those strong cravings pop up, and pop up they will for some time.  Don't worry,  we are always listening, even if we do not reply.  We are all quitters of one sort or another, and we fully empathise with you.

Fight those battles and WIN every time!

Well out of the blue today got hit with a few strong cravings. It must be psychological? I drank some water and changed the environment I was in. Did some things to pass the time and the feelings subsided. To be honest, I did not like the feeling at all for obvious reasons. I guess you don't realize how strong the addiction the habit of smoking really is. Had to break the dependence then had to break the habit. I know I am preaching to the choir but I was take a back a little today. Still I didn't give in so I may reward myself with a shopping trip this weekend with the money I am saving! Thanks for listening and to all those quitting, take each craving one battle at a time!

Hey Cdngreeneyes,
By your meter you've made it 33 days now without a smoke. AWSOME!   I hope you are rewarding yourself for this great accomplishment.
As you said, the urges are still there but they do easier with time, and they will keep getting easier each day. Keep up the great start you have on your quit, and keep your guard up for that Nico-demon, the triggers are everywhere.
Once again congratulations on your quit. Nobody else can do it for you, only you can and you're doing great!

I'm still not smoking. Haven't touched one. Feeling good and proud about myself. I won't lie, I still have some cravings. Maybe one super strong one every couple of days now. At least ones I remember but it's way easier to get through them. Wishing all well and thank you for the kinds words of support. Everyone's battle is different by my words to you is you can do it! :)

Another smoke-free week under your belt, Green Eyes!!!!  Wooo Hooo for you! Get through another week and you will be soooo close to kicking ash for your first month!    Don't look too far ahead, though!  Just keep on taking it one day at a time and those smoke-free days will start adding up faster and faster!

       3 weeks down....  REWARD  TIME!!!
