What makes smoking inconvienent for you?

6 years ago 0 1 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
Smoking is inconvenient for me because it coats me so much money. It is inconvenient because it is cooler not to smoke these days and most places have smoke free patios when you go out or smoke free homes. Smoking is inconvenient for me because it hurts my throat and makes my voice sound terrible. Smoking is inconvenient for me because it makes me feel powerless.

    Cigarettes Not Smoked

Smoking is inconvenient for me because I hid it from everyone, including my best friend. Telling her about this journey was hard. Smoking is inconvenient because I had to plan my days with my kids in a way that would allow me to sneak away from them to grab a quick smoke without them knowing. Smoking is inconvenient because when I went to work conferences, I had to try to get a room away from my work people, so I could sneak outside and walk a mile to smoke. Smoking is inconvenient because I had to carry an extra shirt, lotion, and mints with me every where, so I could find a deserted car wash to smoke, so no one would know.

Smoking is inconvenient because I let it rule my life, take me away from situations I wanted to be in, and spend less time with my children. Instead of smores at camp, I just wanted them to go to bed, so I could finally relax with a beer AND have a smoke.

Smoking is inconvenient for me because it is expensive. I also feel like I am setting a bad example for my son, and I dont like smelling like cigarette smoke. Most importantly, I don't like feeling so powerless to change something.

I find myself so embarrassed by the smell and the comments people make! That alone should be enough to make me want to quit.

Smoking is inconvienient for me because I have to wait when I'm in the car with my boyfriend or someone elses car. When it's cold outside, or rainy (I keep my ashtray and butts outside which are more than likely half smoked for use when I run out of a pack). When I run out of money and I suddenly find myself digging for change, stealing change out of my parent's change jar or even over charging my credit card. I also hate being at a bar with friends and being the only one outside because I just had to have a cigarette. My boyfriend's "cutesy" not so cutesy nicknames for them - Stinkweed.

I think I kinda went a bit overboard lol.

Hi Tate,

That sounds like an annoying inconvenience Tate! Now you have more control over how you spend your time.

Hi Ashely... Am new at this, been smoking for two years. My in convenience come with the fact that I have to go out of my office or home or take long walks for that matter to the nearest shop just to get a cigarette, sometimes I would drive out in the middle of the night just to have a pack of cigarettes which is really embarrassing for me due to the thoughts or that distant look they give of, (is this guy serious driving out at this hour of the night for the a cigarette)

Hi Ashley, Timely topic. I was brought to the emergency room yesterday(nothing serious it turns out, Thank You.) We were there for over 8 hours and while my wife and 2 friends had to leave, as needed , for their regular nicotine feedings I was as comfortable as could be. I remember being in the hospital in the past and what torture it was not being able to go outside to smoke. Those days are over now! I'm gonna be HEALTHY when I die !

The last two places I've lived in I haven't smoked inside my home. Going outside to smoke, especially in a cold, Canadian winter makes it inconvenient for me.  Where I live now is a townhouse and not an end unit. When we I am outside in spring/summer to smoke, I am very conscious of my so close neighbours and their open windows which makes it inconvenient for me to smoke outside my own home because I feel guilty polluting their air too. Even more inconvenient is going and smoking in my garage, which is where I end up for shelter. I am sure my neighbours find me to be an inconvenience when I'm out back in the winter and they let their dogs out who bark and bark at me (truthfully I find it inconvenient they let their dogs bark and bark and bark whether I'm outside or not - more annoying when am though )

I am glad to put these inconveniences to bed now.
