One day at a time Han and don't look too far ahead - stay in the moment!!

Plus, there is plenty of good reading here with all sorts of tips and advice on how to cope and maintain your quit. Read, read, read! And don't be frightened to ask questions - they will get answered!

Best,
Penitent

Hey Han!!!

A big SSC welcome to you!!!  Congrats on your decision to quit smoking and to regain your freedom!  You have found a great website with a very well thought out  Program and support group to help you achieve your success!  As far as tips for success... go through the Program (above My Program tab) and also use the Tools (above tab, too) to learn what quitting is all about and how to do it!  Also, log in to the Forums often to learn from those who have come before you and shared their thoughts.  Every bit of the knowledge you gain will be a huge benefit to you on your journey!

Try to maintain a Positive Mental Attitude (PMA) as best as you can!  You are not giving up anything useful by giving up cigarettes!  On the contrary, by quitting you are gaining your freedom from a very powerful addiction that will eventually make you very ill or worse!  Keeping this in mind was very helpful to me and helped me to have a brighter outlook every day!  Also, having a negative attitude seems to sort of open a door way for that stinking nico-demon to throw a nasty crave your way!

Stick close and remember that we are all rooting for you!

Welcome Han and congratulations on 4 days!

That means that by now, all nicotine should have left your body! Try not to put any more in!!!

Take it slowly, just one day at a time and no matter what the pressure, DO NOT SMOKE!!

You can do this if you really want to.

Good Luck,
Penitent

    Cigarettes Not Smoked

10 years ago 0 14 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0

I have decided to quit smoking last week. The last cigarette I smoked was on February 15th at 4:21 AM. Today is my fourth day and going good. My urges to smoke a cigarette are declining however at this time I feel the need to be associated with a community/people that are going through the similar phase. Any comments/tips/suggestions are really appreciated.

Thanks,
