Dear Han,

I assume you got it worked out, as I can see your Quit Meter, and it says 6 days!

Congratulations on your quit which looks to be going the right way for it to last!    It is so exciting to see so many new quitters on the site right now.  I hope you and they will stay close to us at the beginning of their quits, as we can help advise them if they have any difficulties.  Just remember quitting is a process, not just an event.  You do not quit, then it is over, well some might, but they are very few. Usually some little or large problems surface as time passes, and it is good to be prepared.  Do learn as much as you can from this site, post and ask questions.  Someone will help.

You say you have tried many times in the past, but this time you will make it stick!  That is exactly what you need...determination to succeed.  It is so worth it!

Whatever it takes, just don't smoke!!!

Hey Jim, Thanks for the encouraging words. Could you guide me - how to set the Qitmeter. I'm also using a mobile app which I believe is similar to Quitmeter. But I would love to set the Quitmeter here as well. Thanks.

Hey Han!

It looks like you are off to a great start on your quit!  A couple more days and you will have made it through Hell Week!!!  It looks like you need to set up your quit meter so that you can watch your stats grow daily!  It can be a great motivator!  Don't forget to reward yourself well!!!

hey Hamlet,

I am still on it. Its my 6th day. now I am feeling perfectly normal. I avoid hanging with smokers, kinda started hating them. Its only 3-4 days of pain, and we are all scared of it, thus we are not able to quit. I think I was kinda dumb not to have realized this earlier, I would have saved lots of money and  improved my health.  Never too late though! guys out there thinking quitting smoking is really the hardest thing in the world. Let em tell you IT IS NOT. You will realize when you do not smoke for a week.

Hamlet.  You can do it, whatever happens just dont lit a cigarette. its only few days you have to curb your temptations and you will have a fresh life, full of confidence, self esteem, joy and  good health all the good things. All the best!

Great Whisper, you've passed the tough phase. it should get easier now, just stay focused. It aint physical anymore, it's about mental. stay determined to kick out that monster (Smoking) which has controlled your life for so long. Good luck!

Hi Han,
You said "this time around I really mean it and I am gonna do it", and with an attitude like this you WILL do it. You really have to want to quit for it to work. Take it slow, and when you get an urge, do whatever it takes to not smoke. Some things that helped me was to suck through a straw like it was a cigarette, eat a piece of hard candy, (or vegetables or crackers or whatever you like), take deep breaths through the  nose and exhale through the mouth. The urge  will go away, and usually in less than 5 minutes. Just do whatever you can to NOT smoke. It will get easier with time. You have already made it over the physical part, now it's all mental. I wish the best!

Hey Han!!!

You are doing great so far!  Stay positive and keep on taking it one day at a time.  If you need advise, just ask!  We all know what you are going through!
