Thanks for the little push at the beginning of my stuttery start - to warn me of the dangers of 'rewarding myself by having just 'one' puff' Pen!
It was just what I needed at the time to come to terms with the fact that the only way to true freedom from Nicodemon (for me anyway)  is to adhere to N.O.P.E.!  Not One Puff  EVER!
Am zeroing in on 3 years quit soon and I sure do love my lungs (and my Zumba dance class) now
So nice to see you pop in again Pen.  You have such a great perspective and provide such a fine example for us here :)

Well Done Eyja!!!

After a stuttery start this was never in doubt!!

Congratulations on 1000 days and many thanks for sticking around to share!

Best Wishes
Penitent

Thanks VIV - It's surprising how the numbers begin to add up once you get on with NOPE! Time really seems to fly when you see it here in black and white.  I like checking on my 'diary' from time to time just to remind me that I'm doing pretty well with this quit and feel so much better for it!  You are doing great too!  42 weeks is awesome VIV!

Great achievement Eyjay, it's hard to imagine all those days. Just got calculator out and note that it's 142 weeks! So I can imagine now , I have just 100 weeks to go. I realise I'm very late and you have actually done a further two weeks, but hey, better late never! Well done you! Love Viv

Eyja,
Almost missed this one, I've  been out doing a little camping and celebrateing of my own in the desert and smelling the red desert flowers again .
I came home last night and saw that you had hit 1000 mark and didn't want to miss this chance to congratulate you on a great quit.

Sending a Big Congratulations and  Lots of Cheers your way today!

Thank you so much for posting this Jim - and for sharing a 'clink' with me after work too ! I loved relaxing after work with a home brewed Oatmeal Stout served in a chilled mug.  Yummy treat :)  Thank you snice for the martini too :)  It was great!  And Yes, I had a real reckoning over these big round numbers on my quit meter Workin' On It. Thanks so much for your support.
I really appreciate your thoughtful responses Mach, Lolly, breather, Vincenza and Duffis

I did NOT smoke 10,000 vanilla (or cherry) tipped, slim, lady like cigarellos over the last 1000 days! Although I will confess to sucking the cherry flavor off the plastic tips of my hubby's cigars for the first few weeks after I quit, I did NOT light one up!  Then one day, I stopped torturing myself by tempting fate and said my goodbyes to the cherry and vanilla tips altogether.
The nicest thing I have found in the last few months is to finally realize that I truly don't miss the cigars or their flavored tips at all anymore!
Also I enrolled in a continuing education course online and just noticed that my monthly cost for this 12 month program translates exactly to what I would have spent on smoking over the the same time period.  That's the best gift I could give myself!
Thank you to all the members and staff, past and present, here at SSC for your continued encouragement and support.  I am so proud to be a contributing member here.  I am convinced that the combination of support, knowledge and always adhering to N.O.P.E. and H.A.L.T. is the key to forever success!
