What If ? Part III

Even at this point in my quit, I sometimes have these random moments of gratitude over the fact that I no longer smoke. Had one of those today (which is really yesterday on the time clock here).

It's definitely worth keeping up for at least another 24 hours, so I will not smoke today.

not sure if anyone here remembers my original avatar a few years ago - it was a pic of our mama eagle from our local nest - now this juvie is about two - she is getting so big and catching her own food too!  now that i don't smoke, i have more time and energy for my morning walks so i can keep up with our eagle family as they grow and change over the seasons & years - too cool!
i didn't smoke today and i have no plans of lighting any cigarettes tomorrow either - in fact i think i'll stick with NOPE b/c that works best of all!

I think I'll chime in with a pledge not to smoke today.  Seems like a good way to start my week after a fun action-filled long weekend off with family and friends : ) Although other people were lighting up, ruining their lungs and contaminating the air we breathe, I found some fresh air upwind of the smoke and held to my conviction to remain smoke free. The weekend is over now & the smokers left with their coughs, butt filled ashtrays and yellow teeth.  They are fine people who I love, but I wish they could see themselves puffing! YUK!  We each tread our own path in life and I am glad that mine is as a non smoker.  NOPE works!

Been having some deep talks with a friend who is alcoholic and several years in recovery. It's been another reminder of he slippery nature of addiction. You can be 10 years from your last drink or puff, yet one drink or puff away from a total relapse. It truly is a thin thread by which we hang.

On that note, I will not smoke today.
