Day 4!!! Sweet!!! The nicotine is just about gone from your body and you are beginning to heal!!! That's cause for celebration in my book! Be sure to continue to reward yourself in some little way every day! That will help you to stay on track throughout the day. My daily reward was a beer if I made it through another day smoke free! As you can tell, my reward system worked well! I was fully prepared to abstain if I caved in, but fortunately I really wanted this to be my final quit, even more than I wanted a beer!
Revise and update your list of coping strategies daily, drink plenty of ice water, do deep breathing and try some different relaxation techniques. Take a walk and breath deep, do some stretching exercises... anything you can think of to distract yourself from thinking too much about smoking. Learn what works and throw out what doesn't and switch it up! Change your routine. This whole journey is a learning process and you have prepared yourself well. Continue to learn because with knowledge you journey will be much easier! You CAN do this!!!
N.O.P.E. definitely! I've finally managed to get a grip on the sugar obsession and subsequent weight gain . . . lost 3 out of the 8 lbs. I gained by excercising before and after work like a madwoman . . . loving it!
Way to go Ironman! I found the first 3 days to be the hardest. It can only get better and easier from here. Just remember, N.O.P.E. It really does help to keep this in the back of your mind at all times.
So many different and mixed emotions! I am on day 4! Already 60 cigarettes that I did not poison my lungs with! Already 30 euros saved. They say the first 3 days are the most difficult ones and they are over! I am so happy but at the same time, worried not to fall in the trap, sad that I put myself into some difficulty.... I know its silly but these feelings are here. Produced by the cravings and the changes in the system? Most likely. I just acknowledge them and I make the pledge once more: Here is to freedom from the nicotine deamon!
