Nothing is so perfectly amusing as a total change of

Do not wait; the time will never be "just right." Start where
you stand, and work with whatever tools you may have at your command, and better
tools will be found as you go along.

A strange thing is memory, and hope; one looks backward, and
the other forward; one is of today, the other of tomorrow. Memory is history
recorded in our brain, memory is a painter, it paints pictures of the past and
of the day.

All those who offer an opinion on any doubtful point should
first clear their minds of every sentiment of dislike, friendship, anger or
pity.

Mr Duff, you are a Bright Star, the picture of health and a prime motivator.
Willis, you are kewl.
I walked over to Starbucks yesterday for a super-strong coffee and a smoke outside.  Ran into a 40
yr old neighbour there and sat with her.  Her face was ashen, quite grey.  She asked me for a cigarette.  I said NO.  She got angry for a bit between wet coughs.  I told her she needs to see a doctor pronto.  She told me it's not my problem.  I told her some funny stories and had her laughing.
She told me, as we walked home, that she was going to quit smoking today.
After I got home I thought, I have got to do something and then I found this wonderful site.  I will share it with her when I see her again.  Thank You for being you and for being here.

Hi Humble !  Glad you found us to help you quit. You will find lots of great people here who can help you every step of the was and in return I bet you will help many of us !

I see you like to read and research , one of the things I always stress as key to a permanent quit is to research nicotine addiction. Fully understanding what you are dealing with will give you the tools to win this fight and it is not as hard as you may think. There will be some tough days but they will get fewer and fewer and before you know it smoking will just become just a passing thought from a past life.

Hi there Humble.  I thank you for coming to the realization that you are never too old to do anything.  Some times things just go slower than others.  I smoked for 58 years and quit because my wife has COPD and I knew that she could not quit if I was still smoking.  I quit cold turkey and never looked back.  This site helped me to form a plan and then I just worked the plan.  Several members helped me get through the tough times and if you need help with your quit I am here every day don't hesitate to seek help when you need it.  Best wishes and here is to a successful quit.
