What if? Part II

I've been busy this week, so little time to post or follow up on posts. It's been kind of good, since my idle mind seems to be the Nicodemon's Workshop.  I will not smoke today.

Hi Dori : ) Thanks so much for the 'good luck' wishes regarding my job interview today - the one I applied for has promise but I have to wait at least a week until  the company sorts through all the applications . . . but we shall see  : )  I have a few other interviews lined up this week and am really looking forward to landing a better job soon - You're right about having a better edge than I ever did as a smoker - it gives me much more confidence during the interviews  -  I know (for sure!) I won't have to take time away from learning a new job to fixate on a smoke break!  Lah dee dah! Feels like a winning attitude if I do say so about my own horn
Hey Red : ) I'm wrapping a big huge hug around all those hopes, dreams and plans you have to live a healthy, full, free life full of joy, power and energy!  Am sending prayers as I think of you sailing through all those appts scheduled with your Docs and am proud of you for all the things in life you've accomplished since quitting smoking so far!  Good for you! Awesome pledge too
Hello fellow pledgers - I hope you'll join us in NOPE - because it works!

I Hope to get good news from the Docs these next two weeks..
Thanks everyone for your support and for posting your pledges.

My Pledge " I will Not Smoke Today"  Why???

Because I want to live a long happy healthy life..Doing what I want to do..

I wanted to be able to ride my boggie board again and I did..
I wanted to be able to hike up a hill at the zoo again and last week I did !
I wanted to be able to work in my yard again and I did yesterday because it was cooler and because I don't smoke anymore!

I have lots of thing I want to do and I am getting to do them because "I don't smoke anymore"..
It is taking some time but I feel that my heart is getting stronger with every day I stay quit and I am starting to get to enjoy my life again.
I am regaining my independence and therefore my freedom to do what I want to do..because "I don't smoke anymore"..

So I will not smoke again...Not today or tomorrow or the next either...
My life and future is riding on this one pledge to myself ..

Best of luck to you Eyja on your interview.  You're already an edge ahead from the past in that you'll be focusing on the interview rather than being distracted by wanting your next fix!

Not Caving to the Crave sounds like a good plan to me!  Refusing to give money to Soulless Multinational Corporations works for me too!  NOPE is the best way to keep the Quit.  NOPE works.
I'm applying for a different job this week - I'm sure that not being a 'smoker' will give me an advantage during my interviews.  Wish me luck guys!  I hope to post my new work status soon!  Have a great smoke free day : )

I will not smoke today.

Refusing to give my money to soulless multinational corporations that profit from self imposed slavery (addiction) and death both here and abroad. Refusing to pay to enable politicians who levy sin taxes rather than be up-front about governmental budgetary shortfalls. ...Well, that's all the rebellion I've got in me right now this Sunday afternoon.

Yes! You well deserve all compliments coming your way Roses - you really do look young, strong & healthy - your hair is very thick and beautiful so that adds to your beauty too : )  - and you're doing so great with your quit; you're an inspiration here : )  Working On It too : ) I relate (very much!) to your inner rebel and love how deal with that and still find a way to initiate and maintain your quit.  Woo Hoo for "lose the smoke but keep the fire" mentality!   Hi Sly : ) You're coming along so well these days.   It's great to read back to some of your early posts ( a few weeks ago) and see how far you've already come.  Good for you!
The daily pledge helps a lot to guard against that one little lapse of judgement when 'junkie' thinking tries to overwhelm us and we fall for the 'one little puff' mistake!  That's why NOPE and NTAP are soooo important to maintaining these hard won days of freedom!
There surely is strength in numbers, so I'm joining the chorus for today's pledge - I'm Not gonna smoke today. NOPE!
